shyy was absolutely solid, i just don’t think he had a better year than either johnqt or leaf

shyy was good but similar to tex i think he didn’t have as high of a peak as john or leaf, and less i feel as though he had a bit of a slump in form, though that was mainly because his team was also not very good

he was honestly the only real competition leaf had in 2024 americas, i’d say tex but he didn’t have as high a peak as the other two

at what point are we going to consider him one of the goats of americas? since franchising he has taken up two roles, and in both roles he has been one of the best in his region

2023 he was hard carrying c9 as duelist, even being compared to aspas before the team eventually started falling off (as c9 usually does), but even when he slowed down he still looked incredible and was a top 3 americas duelist throughout the year

2024 when he made the shift to sentinel he still looked incredibly clean and was perhaps the best g2 player that year, also arguably the best sentinel in the region outside of maybe johnqt, and in 2025 even though he’s only played one match he still looks so good

i genuinely think he should be in conversations for one of the greatest players the region has produced, all he’s missing is a chip and i genuinely think with the lineup g2 has now he’ll be able to get one

the edg core has been together for ages, they’ve been the pillar of chinese valorant since the scene came together and while i agree with you that other teams making events will show a bit of regional strength, that might not translate to lan events

until china can hold their own outside of their region, i do think edg needs to continue attending lans since they’re the ones with proven potential to make deep runs internationally (assuming they actually lock in and make these internationals)
