if they won Reykjavik what's to stop the same thing from happening to them at Copenhagen, i just don't really see your point here

just because a team wins one event doesn't mean that they should logically win the prior events in the year, so these hypotheticals really mean nothing. Of course if a team wins more than 1 event they're going to be one of the best of all time, but even if they won Reykjavik, there's no guarantee that they go on to win Copenhagen anymore, because we're just throwing around baseless claims at that point.

we don't really have a lot to go off of for the roles on that roster except the 2 series yay played at lock//in, but out of the 5 maps he played he played 4 maps of sentinel and 1 map of jett, I honestly think c9 were ahead of their time putting yay on an almost permanent (non-chamber) sentinel role, but yeah I see what you mean

to be honest I disagree with your reasoning that people simply "thought" the game was too big to fail, I think it really was too big to fail, and it ultimately was gross mismanagement by blizzard and insanely unlucky circumstances from covid leading to the game's downfall, not some inherent flaw with the game's mechanics, player base, or even balancing problems, which OW had no lack of. Considering Riot's track record with LOL, I don't really think OWL is an apt comparison to make here.

As content gets stale (not saying it isn't already), ranked players truly start to get upset with the state of the game, and a few more absolutely broken metas that tilt people who are just trying to play for fun, sure, but I also think we're speaking from a point of worry where there really shouldn't be, the game is still really young and with changes that have historically helped every game they've been applied to - like replay systems and franchising for esports. If the game makes it well into these points and isn't experiencing growth, then I think a conversation is to be had about whether valorant is/will die or not.

What is there to be scared about? If you're not having fun, don't play, take a break, despite the fact that we're on vlr there's more to life than valorant. Ranked anxiety is like the worst thing anybody who wants to climb can have.
