It feels weird seeing more supportive comments than hate for TALON. I’m a natural pessimist, so this feels like a bad omen already
Some Japanese comments I agree with say that esports (Valorant) in Japan focuses more on making money from sponsors than on improving competitive skill. Competition is treated more as entertainment for viewers, with a focus on fan interaction rather than actual gameplay performance. Since partner teams can’t be relegated to Ascension anyway, they just try to cash in while they can.
They prioritize creating streamers over developing real pro players.
As a result, their main target audience ends up being “fan moms” people who watch just to see the players’ faces, not because they’re genuinely interested in the game, and support them no matter how poorly they perform.
