Best advice is to follow your passion and you will naturally be productive, I know most people don’t have passion for what they’re doing/studying. In this case my method is to tell myself I have to do this or I’m a bitch. Works well for me, not a widely tested method, results may vary.

Let's keep it a stack. The only issue all of these other "Journalists" have with you is the fact that you are taking the light off them. They don't like that you post the information first because it's less views for them. So they attacked you. I guess there is more money involved in valo "journalism" than I would've thought, because this should not have blown up the way it did.
They're offering you "guidance and help" on your path to journalism (something that you see can maybe be a future for you). This is the equivalent of gas companies buying out alternative fuel companies just to shut them down so their business stays afloat.
