EMEA powerhouse Fnatic proved once again why they are considered royalty on the global stage, dispatching RRQ the self-proclaimed Kings of the Pacific with a confident 2-1 victory. Led by the ever-charismatic IGL Boaster, whose elite shotcalling was on full display, Fnatic showcased clinical execution, particularly in their site takes spearheaded by the red-hot kaajak. And make no mistake Alfajer’s Chamber was nothing short of a nightmare for RRQ. His presence alone shut down entire areas of the map, leaving RRQ scrambling for answers they never found.
RRQ, though resilient, looked outclassed from start to finish. Their recent Pacific triumph now seems more like a fluke than a sign of dominance. Against Fnatic's coordinated assault, they appeared disoriented and, at times, desperate. It's hard not to feel that the Pacific's peak performance was nothing more than a trash heap masquerading as a mountain top. If this is the best the region can offer, perhaps luck not skill has carried them this far.
Let’s face it this spot should’ve gone to DRX. It's embarrassing that RRQ stood as our representative on this stage. Next time, let’s hope the Pacific sends its true giants... more Korean teams. Back to their region RRQ may have to rely on luck because right now, that’s all they’ve got.
