Yo, I meant to follow up with this a few weeks ago, but couldn't find the thread. Sorry for the late response.

Slow Mode was invented a year after the allegations against Sinatraa. So mods couldn't use slow mode then because it didn't exist yet.

Since then, mods always put challenging topics like this in slow mode. Threads like these get tons of comments and are extremely hard to moderate. The subject matter also weighs on us heavily. (Some of us are SA survivors.)

I spent 3 days moderating Reddit comments on the Sinatraa situation, and only got 4 hours of sleep in total. It never stopped; it was brutal. (After a week I had to ask people to please stop making threads because we really needed a break.)

Slow Mode now at least gives us a chance to catch our breath. It make the situation easier to moderate by slowing down the rate at which users interact. This allows us watch discussion more closely & remove any harmful messages or stop arguements that devolve into attacking the other person. I'm sorry it's a pain in the ass, but I hope you'll understand that it helps us keep our sanity intact. 🙏

edit: welp, sorry to necro & get the thread locked. Just wanted to clarify for OP.

Mods have to prepare when a big story like this hits. it's difficult to moderate & is really stressful, so we hold the thread in limbo while we prepare a sticky comment & alert other mods to help out.

This was submitted like, 5 times and we only could have one thread, so we decided to post from the bot so no one would benefit karma-wise.

M4, a lot of people are saying what you should or shouldn't do, but I was to ask the opposite.

What value do you think it brings when you talk about the origin or visual description of Icebox? Why is this information important for a pro player to know? How does it improve their game plan/strategy?

If you are rejecting all of this advice from experience coaches, I want to know why you think it's important.

I'm not sure. I know last year between Stage 1 and Stage 2 they pushed the show time back an hour. The even later start this year might be to capitalize on NA viewers who tune in for EMEA. But again, I'm not sure.

Yeah, mostly a DHBK fan though. They're a goofy bunch that were active on Reddit in the early days.
