Terrible take that doesn't make any sense. Losing to a team doesn't automatically make you worse than rest of the teams. Both teams played really well.

Acend should win against Gambit unless they mentally boomed, so we should see ACE vs SMB rematch. After that we can crown the best team in EMEA.

posted about 2 years ago

that's kind of what adaptive gameplay looks like.

posted about 2 years ago

At least now they have some footage to look through. SMB isn't bad Split team either.

I actually hope that Gambit is in same group with Sentinels. I feel like they are better fit than G2 to fight against Sentinels.

Pretty much semis will be made of 4 of these: Sentinels, Envy, 100T, VS, Acend, SMB, Gambit. Hard to see any other region making it there over these.

He is good player during his good days, but he is just really inconsistent.

I think its around 60% Jamppi and 40% Soulcas unless they have changed.

Here EU games usually start at 4PM/6PM/8PM and NA games like 10PM/12AM. So its decent.

I don't think they are more patriotic than others, its just that their patriotism and culture is different compared to a lot of other countries. Good and easy example is flags for example. In USA people show respect and pride towards their flag by portraying it everywhere from schools to houses etc. While in countries like Finland (where I am from) people show respect and pride towards the flag by only showing it during important events. We see the American way as disrespectful. Obviously you also need to add that in general Americans may not know as much about the world (outside of USA) compared to people who come from places like Europe. So they may not realize their faultiness. People here see Americans as ignorant and arrogant.

Gambit lost to arguable the best EMEA team. Losing 2-1 against Acend isn't that bad.

I'm just worried of Zeek. He really needs to step in from the beginning. He has been kind of struggling during their last games. Obviously he was sole reason Acend won Icebox against NaVi, but at the same time his early performance was one of the reasons why the game went to OT.

I'm not downvoting you btw

Could be. I just feel that the win against FPX came down to SMB outaiming FPX.

posted about 2 years ago

I think either one can win, but one think where SMB clearly surpassed FPX was their individual plays. I think it mainly came down to that. FPX players just couldn't win duels. But, the think is that G2 is far superior in that department compared to FPX.

G2 2-0 SMB
ACEND 2-1 Gambit

posted about 2 years ago

We don't know about G2 yet. Liquid wasn't consistent in Iceland.

Mechanically Bonkar isn't that good (in pro level), but his ability usage is usually really good and he is the brain of the team. But, kind of makes sense since he comes from Paladins.

posted about 2 years ago

I think the finalist will be 2 of these: Acend, G2, Gambit or Team Liquid.
But my prediction just to spice things up is: G2 vs TL

posted about 2 years ago

Acend didn't qualify because of single elims (Even Sentinels lost once against Andbox). G2 did roster changes because their old lineup wasn't working anymore and no one expected them to make it to Reykjavik anyway. They most likely paid good amount for Acend's Koldamenta, so Acend had to sign Zeek. Heretics had arguable the most dominant EU team, but they apparently had internal issues.

You are really underestimating Guild. They played well, but Gambit played better. Gambit were good in Masters 2 EMEA's and placed 3rd/4th. Everyone knows that they are scrim gods and their individuals are nuts. There is a reason why people have high expectations for them.

posted about 2 years ago

Tbh FPX doesn't deserve to go forward if they play like this.

posted about 2 years ago

That's sad... if Liquid keeps playing like this and they truly activated their lower bracket mode I wouldn't be surprised if they made it to top 4. But, the thing is that both Acend and Gambit should make it to Berlin as well. Maybe too early to say though, but the momentum is building...

Liquid plays so well under pressure

Just as predicted.

Its not an excuse. They literally went 2-10 against FF on their first map and still ended up winning that. Yesterday against SMB they sucked d on first map, but started dominating on 2nd map (yes it got closer at end, but they only needed 3 rounds and had momentum). 3rd map could have gone either way.

posted about 2 years ago

This re-schedule fucked them as I predicted. They always start slow and now doesn't have enough rounds to start rolling.

posted about 2 years ago

I wouldn't be surprised if they won 2-0 tbh. FPX has to win 3 rounds before SMB wins 6. That would already be an achievement for FPX based on their last 2 games. I'm really hoping for 3rd map though.

posted about 2 years ago

So unlucky for FPX though. They clearly need some time before their machine starts running like against FF (2-10 first half and still made a comeback) and yesterday against SMB. Now the opponents are on a match point and there's only few rounds to be played. I wouldn't be surprised if SMB just speedruns the 6 rounds today.

posted about 2 years ago

It was still 1v1. Either one could have won that.

posted about 2 years ago

Currently EMEA gets 4 slots total. I don't think giving NA 1 slot more is fair. Sentinels winning Reykjavik doesn't make the whole region better. EU and NA go hand in hand when it comes to rest of the teams.

posted about 2 years ago

How can you say that 1v1 wasn't close? That doesn't make any sense.

posted about 2 years ago

Its streamed on 2nd channel not main, because SEA games were played on main when EMEA started. A lot of people don't follow 2nd, 3rd and 4th valorantesports channels. For example NA 2nd games are usually streamed on Nerdstreet channels.

posted about 2 years ago

FPX looks so lost most of the time. Kind of how they looked against Team Liquid is Masters 2. Just sneaking around map and getting picked one by one.

posted about 2 years ago

2 EU slots would be pretty unfair if NA gets 3 IMO. Both should be 3.

posted about 2 years ago

(plus) 1

posted about 2 years ago

How do you determine "star player"? People who have bunch of viewers on Twitch? That shouldn't matter in pro games... NA has always been about individuals while EU about teams. Even in CSGO.

posted about 2 years ago

Who was ranking them high? I think it was pretty clear that they are like 5th best team in Europe after their performance in Challengers week 1 and 2. Acend, G2, Guild, FPX are all better on paper currently. TL share 5th spot with Giants and Fnatic. No hate towards them though.

posted about 2 years ago

I mean Sentinels in NA (at least prior to Iceland) and Sentinels in Iceland are 2 different things. They played so much better.

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah and TL won the second map. They played 2 maps and ended up 1-1

posted about 2 years ago

I think all T1 EU teams are full of EU players, outside of couple.
