ok but 2023 pre-LCQ KRU were still bad, just because they improved doesnt mean they werent shit previously

posted 3 months ago

im not saying they need to make moves, but objectively you cannot say that an 0-4 team isnt a bad team

there are people in the thread saying that Cryo is a good player on a bad team, and 100T are 3-1, so saying that an 0-4 team is bad is not a stretch

posted 3 months ago

regardless, you cant exactly say an 0-4 team isnt bad

Azzelastia D tier. The worst of the english flags on this website

NRG didnt buy the history of Optic at all, thats like saying that current rankers have the history of Optic. NRG were in the scene before franchising, and were completely irrelevant. No amount of buying players changes that

Asuna fade in homeground 2022 looked like it had potential to be top-tier, its a shame he's never had the freedom to play it

posted 3 months ago

Cryo yoru allowing Asuna to spam tejo would feed families

posted 3 months ago

mistype!!

okay but who do you replace him with then? Who else is willing to play duelist/ initiator while being as good with initiator util as Asuna is? how realistic is it to get them? do they comm as well as Asuna? do they have as good an attitude as Asuna? is it worth to make a swap mid season?

posted 3 months ago

he is on a duelist role because of his teammates inability to play raze or neon. Cryo is worth sacrificing Asunas numbers for but if Cryo could play raze then Asuna wouldnt play a single round of duelist

posted 3 months ago

it 100% is that people expect him to be the 50 kills on icebox reyna like he was when he came into the scene, but much like TenZ ended up doing, he is most effective when in a supporting role.

I also think the teammates around him arent necessarily an issue, but their agent pool forces him to play subpar agents rather than ones he is best at.

Ive watched every game since 2022, and I can say that Asuna in that time has played fade, skye, kayo, gekko, tejo and yoru to a good standard, even if the sample size isnt too big. The only initiators he isnt great at is breach (who he played) and sova (who he hasnt).

If Cryo could play all duelists and zikz was willing to put eeiu on breach, then we'd be speaking about Asuna as a guy who is a really good initiator, but unfortunately cryo cant play raze or neon particularly well, so Asuna is forced onto Raze and Neon where he just doesnt have the mechanics to play both of those agents well.

I think that Cryos ability to play Yoru could transform 100T if he cleans the util up a bit. They'd look 10x better putting him on Yoru/ Jett or Iso on every map and just running eeiu breach and Asuna tejo, with Boostio on second controller or sentinel

posted 3 months ago

G2 is the strongest argument in favour of my points right now, JonahP and trents biggest impact on the game comes through their utility and intelligence which helps leaf, valyn and jawg succeed

posted 3 months ago

he has been playing initiator to a good standard since before franchising, you are just exposing yourself as someone who doesnt watch the games

posted 3 months ago

probably because Asuna is a better initiator than he is duelist but whatever suits your agenda

posted 3 months ago

because he is a good role player and sets up his team well, but gets talked about like he is FNS with screams brain

not every team needs 5 generational aimers, EDG had s1mon, Gen G had lakia, sen had zellsis and sacy, EG had c0m and ethan, FNC had boaster.

putting 5 pure aimers who hit insane clips every match sounds good on paper but has never worked before, you need a guy willing to do the stuff people dont notice (utility, being traded etc)

posted 3 months ago

and a big reason why Cryo wins these games is because Asuna takes space

posted 3 months ago

what history does NRG or C9 have? NRG didnt qualify to an event until franchising, and C9 is the only NA org to not record a top 4 finish at a LAN.

even tho ppl dont like 100T in the general community, they are still the 2nd most relevant NA org behind SEN in terms of investing into the game and having a solid fanbase that doesn't revolve around who plays for the team (FNS and s0m with NRG)

EG is more of a dark horse, but they will always be the first champions winner of franchising and kicking them would be a bad look on riots part imo, and they have new ownership so i think riot may see them as a historic VCT franchise who are turning a new leaf

EMEA is difficult, I tried to come up with a mixture of fanbase, competency and history, so KOI missed out on my list as TH, KC and VIT all have healthy fanbases while still being more competent orgs. FNC and TL have too big of a history pre franchise, and valorant is too big in turkey to not include atleast 1 of FUT or BBL

APAC is tough because while I agree that PH, Indian and Indo representation is important, the fact that none of these regions' teams have accomplished much will also limit the amount of ppl who support them. For example, this is an anecdote but i see a lot of PH flags on this site shit on TS, because they consistently put out a middle of the pack team. These fans are more likely to switch to other teams anyway if their national teams are shit or mid. 3 Korean teams because Korea has one of the largest esports cultures in the world, and all 3 orgs are synonymous with Riot esports in one way or another. PRX are one of the most popular teams in Val, Zeta needs a spot because of how big valorant is in Japan, and Thailiand clearly is also a big valorant region since the most recent tourney was held there

I will admit I dont know much about china, so I just picked the teams which the casual fan will know most as they have made LAN appearances, + wolves because wolves is so rich irl since it is a football club

posted 3 months ago

idk how many partnered teams there are so Ill just give 6 per region

AMER: 100T, SEN, LOUD, KRU, EG, G2
EMEA: FNC, TH, KC, VIT, FUT, TL
APAC: PRX, DRX, T1, GENG, ZETA, TLN
CN: EDG, FPX, BLG, TE, DRG, WOLVES

the costreaming point is very true, no offense but half of the costreamers are budget sliggy for analysis or budget tarik for dramatic reactions. too many people trying to fit into the same small niche

posted 3 months ago

I mean NRG have always made hype moves rather than winning moves, possibly because they feel like its their best way to continue in franchising given that they werent very relevant pre-franchising

posted 3 months ago

bonkar possibly gave an ultimatum that he would only coach the team if verno stayed on the active roster, and nrg chose to keep fns + s0m over bonkar and verno

KRU cant even beat EG man sit this discussion out

shit on mibr 26-13 in kickoff tho :P

Cryo wouldnt be as good as he is without a guy like Asuna ( or zekken with xset) to run in like a lunatic and make space for him

if 2 teams tied = h2h
if more than 2 teams tied = map diff

posted 3 months ago

if 100T and SEN win, then they will both be 4-1 and SEN will be 1st seed because of tiebreaker
if 100T wins and SEN loses, 100T will be the only 4-1 team and will be 1st seed
if KRU wins, they get 1st seed because only SEN can be 4-1, which KRU had the tiebreaker
