It actually is stated in a rulebook. Yinsu covered it in her stream. Ofc Guild was the better team but that is nothing to ever consider in rule breaking. If they didn't know, they should read the rules as they are professionals.

It's not about what anyone wants, it's about objective evaluation. So if u go by riot's rules, they should have been disqualified. If riot sets strict rules they should also stick to them as we are talking about professional e-sports.
