How to keep your job 101. Stay positive.

posted 10 months ago

Agreed. Can't keep trying to copy the meta when you don't have a background in FPS games. At some point you have to be able to explain the meta at a high enough level to exploit it against other teams. You can't just pick a composition because everyone else does and hope your players rng the right decisions.

posted 10 months ago

You cannot keep picking maps that other people don't practice That's an underdog strategy. Why would you want a tier 1 team to do this? Are they not supposed to be the best of the best? You want them cheesing to win? That's where we are at in the big 25?

He had his shot. 2022/2023. New blood please.

posted 10 months ago

Then why put him in tier 1? If he is a good development coach he should continue doing what he is good at. Tier 1 is where you go after you are developed. We just need new blood in the scene. Stop rotating through past heroes of a bygone era.

mce is losing in tier 2... stomping tier 3... all while helping global esports get stomped in pacific... do we live on the same planet? he basically took my advice to heart and got his winrate up by smashing the tier 3 tournament scene...

Can't wait for the "it wasn't our day" tweet followed by the "we will try harder next time" and ultimately the "we will get them next season." Love the competitive spirit 100 Thieves.

Thank god we live in an influencer era that doesn't really give a crap about accountability or winning.

What about the ones who put 1 behind their name?

posted about a year ago

There is a general feeling that JoshRT is the best coach in NA (not to put down the goat potter, chill) and when that's mixed with valyn you've got your best chances at taking home a win. Definitely NA bias.

But you've seen a lot of EMEA upsets so its harder to gauge across regions. You're looking at G2 who has steadily been the best performer versus other regions that do not have a similar dominating team.

IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, G2 follows a very lose adoption of a CS framework and that works in an environment that is trying to mirror each other and perform better than their opponents. But that leads to a very specific style of play that runs into trouble when faced with new challenges. The loose rules of CS help G2 gap some teams who just try to follow the "agent meta."

I'm excited to see how well this holds up against the other regions but its more even than people think.
