It was a very tough decision, but for me TenZ just barely won out.

TenZ's placement comes down to consistency across the entire 2021 season rather than any single event. The Champions exit is a fair criticism, but it is worth noting that SEN's 0-2 result was a team-wide collapse rather than a TenZ-specific failure (he was statistically their best player at Masters Berlin) and yay's stronger Berlin numbers came in a much smaller round sample with no Masters Reykjavik attendance. The argument that SEN would have dominated regardless underestimates how much TenZ's individual output drove their early dominance, and the PPI formula accounts for exactly that, rewarding sustained statistical performance across all Tier 1 events rather than weighting Champions disproportionately. As for cNed and nAts, both are genuinely strong cases, but neither attended Reykjavik, which meaningfully lowered their Team Rating in the formula. yay's case is weakened by his smaller sample size, his Champions playoff miss, and the fact that his peak was concentrated in a shorter window late in the year. Ultimately, when you weigh the full season (total rounds, overall consistency, event placements, and team success, TenZ's numbers across 2021 just barely earns him his placement.

Trust me, I went back and forth for weeks on the Top 3.

What placement do you believe is reasonable for TenZ?

If you would like I can give my rational and you can give your reasoning for your placement.

Hello,

I've always been a big enjoyer of both Valorant and Counter Strike eSports. And while I find VCT to be more fun to watch than Tier 1 CS, I always wished that Valorant had something similar to HLTV's Top 20 list.

Linked below is a presentation of who I believe are the best players of the 2021 VCT season. I tried to do this objectively, so I used stats from each event in 2021 to help me calculate a score for each player. I tried to give reasonable explainations for why players were placed where they are, and I provided a link to a document explaining how I calculated each players score.

I decided to start with the 2021 season cause it was the first season under the VCT banner, but I do plan on doing this for every VCT season so far.

If you have any comments regarding any mistakes. player placements, or any questions about my formulas, please leave them below.

Please be respectful with your comments and discussions.

Enjoy and have a lovely weekend.

wait these are your own ratings. Idk if these really work as metric in this context. Maybe do average placement at internationals that might be a better way to get your point across.

"Tier 1 Teams:

GAMBIT (#1 2021)
FNATIC (#1 2023, #8 2024, current: #1-4 2025)

Tier 1 Teams:

LOUD (#2 2022, #4 2023)
LEV (#7 2024)
MIBR (current: #2-13 2025)"

what does this stuff mean? is it meant to be the best placements from each team they have been on? or is it the average placement across the year?
