didn't have the same format though. masters has double elim and groups, lock//in was single elimination which (arguably) was harder, but could be argued that it was easier since any good teams wouldn't have a chance after a single loss

sure, maybe i get you for home ground, but doing this to a scene which gets a fraction of the representation that VCT does, and the scene which only gets a single LAN a year with only half the teams VCT Champions has competing just seems like oblivious mockery
even if it is "for fun", i don't know many people who enjoy watching their favourite team get an arguably unfair map advantage which would never normally happen

for real being on BBC and Sky News being showcased as the UK's first women's esports event (not true) makes you think there would be some important expectations for this but the TOs have no idea how this game's competitive scene works it appears

look i love watching my girlies play but WTF is this tournament.. no crowd, 3 duelist rule and a 1 map up advantage in the grand finals for being upper seed??? doing this for a scene that usually gets a single LAN a year is just fucked IMO, give our girls some actual competitive integrity, playing like this just makes the whole thing seem so unserious
EDIT: the official red bull twitch channel has now pinned that the one map advantage is because SR hasn't lost a map yet. how are they making reasons that make even less sense than the reasons that were already implied
