He acted very fucking strange to a female teammate at one point in ranked. I get some people in this community love supporting sexists, but what’s the appeal behind this guy?

i think wippie is solid, but in 1-to-1 comparisons, both Penny and Wardell have shown to be better. Teams have to be willing to make tough moves to win imo. Effys is by far the weakest link on the team, though. maybe wippie and zellsis could change up their roles.
ultimately i don’t think wardell to V1 happens.

penny is a rifler stuck on a 50/50 entry/awping role. if anything, they drop somebody like wippie and put wardell on chamber/awp role full time. or they drop consistent bottom frag effys and change up their roles.

he's by far the nerdiest Sova main I've EVER seen (and yes, that includes the guy you're thinking of). He had a dart for everything and knew wallbangs that nobody else had discovered. was a valuable asset during the Stage 3 run last year, but didn't have the discipline or aim to win big games. his first duel losses were the big issue.

Even then, I don’t think this squad would have what it takes to qual for LANs or consistently beat top NA teams.

Wardell dropped 30 in regulation on Ascent against 100T while playing Chamber, which is something nobody could do in Group Stage. Sure, that iteration of 100T wasn’t Tier 1, but nobody in the Tier 1 group stage could do what Wardell did (closest was Saya with 26K, but Wardell did that on Icebox in the same series). Point is, Wardell can make Chamber work very effectively on Ascent. I’d still like him to play Jett sometimes, though.

The team wanted him on Chamber on all maps, that’s it. Every other awper/top player plays both Jett and Chamber, and Wardell should be doing it on his new team. Keep in mind, TSM reached their peak when Wardell played Jett and could freelance with the awp. It’s not traditional, but it can work. Plus his rifling has improved to an almost mediocre level lmaooooo.

he gets a bad rep because he doesn’t rifle enough in pro play to get clips of it. i think if he did it more, ppl wouldn’t be as hard on him. he was also the best TSM pistol player by a mile, especially with the Ghost/USP.

Yo Chet ditched TSM (back when I was still a fan and cared) without making them a top team. So that made me salty back in the day. But with hindsight, TSM reached their peak (top 8 NA) under him (Stage 3 2021), so maybe he did the best he could with the “talent” on the team.

I want C9 to win but I predict Cryo will diff Leaf. He’ll cement himself as a top 3 awper NA, which imo are miles ahead of anyone else in the region.

yep, even when SEN were winning all the 2021 VCT Challenger Events (“qualifier for the qualifier for the…”), NV/OpTic were finishing 2-8th consistently. they’ve made every A-tier regional event (except one) since the game began and they were known as “together we are terrific.”
