SEN still #1, if Envy can keep their current form of in Champions and SEN doesn't fix their mistakes then I'd say Envy takes it, but one BO3 win isn't enough

posted about 2 years ago

Gambit played better and won, the Gambit that won the finals was a lot better than the Gambit that lost to 100T. NV were demons the whole tournament up until the finals, they 2-0ed SEN ffs

mickey mouse about to destroy gambit

Icebox: I have to give it to Gambit, the Envy icebox could pretty shaky against Vivo Keyd and KRU, although that could be LAN nerves. Gambit is also kind of inconsistent on the map though so there is definitely room for Envy to take it.

Haven: Envy are probably the best Haven team right now until SEN fix up Haven, while Gambit are not that great. Envy wins this one.

Bind: Gambit have a big advantage, Envy is good on bind but EMEA teams, especially Acend and Gambit, just look unstoppable on that map. This is also what we thought back in Iceland though when SEN beat FNC on Bind, so Envy has a small chance.

Ascent: Gambit look really good on Ascent, but Envy is great too. A 60-40 in favor of Gambit imo.

Split: Envy should most likely take this, their Split looked good against SEN while Gambit don't look too good, and lost to both 100T and VS.

Breeze: In theory Gambit win this, who knows if Envy have been practicing it at all or not since its their permaban.

I think there are two locks for Envy (Haven, Split) and two maps where Gambit are strong favorites on, Bind and Ascent. I think because Envy look so much better than Gambit on two maps Envy will take the series, their map pool minus Breeze is just so solid right now. Logically I think this will be a 3-1 or 3-2 for Envy, but with the momentum Envy has right now, I will pred Envy 3-0. So much of this will also come down to the veto, and whether Envy or Gambit gets the veto advantage. If I had to guess the veto would work like this:

Envy picks Haven (Envy win)
Gambit picks Breeze (Envy win in OT)
Envy picks Ascent (Envy win)
Gambit picks Bind
Envy picks Split

posted about 2 years ago

This is technically a seeding game for Gambit since they already made Champions so Scrimbit might show up, but I really believe in the flawless Envy run, so I'm gonna pred 3-0 ENVY

Top 4, my personal top 4 rn is NV 100T Gambit and VS

posted about 2 years ago

All of a sudden SEN doesn't look too bad now huh

posted about 2 years ago

yeah idk either, especially since the only map 100t have dropped this tournament was ascent (twice)

posted about 2 years ago

ENVY in Berlin was what SEN was in Iceland

posted about 2 years ago

you must have a sad life talking shit about every team, even those from your own region, hope you get well soon bro

posted about 2 years ago

honestly this entire tournament everyone on SEN seemed kind of off. tenz had some good maps and moments, shahz and sick did too, but it was kind of just sporadic aim diffs. part of what makes sen so good is that all 5 (or 4) of them can turn up at once, and envy were definitely popping. of course envy outplayed them too, since sen came into this game with absolutely nothing new except tenz on raze (???)

never thought i'd see the day, from the og scrim team to LANimals. 2 more games to go

posted about 2 years ago

It's hard to say who the best player in the world is right now because different roles play so differently, so its hard to compare a duelist with a player like nAts. I'd say TenZ is the best duelist rifler in the world and a solid oper, better than Asuna at both but I think cNed is way better than him at Jett and op.

this is pretty funny ngl

Top team implies they can beat SEN which I don't believe will happen, it depends a lot on who their new igl is but I could see them hover around or just outside the top 8, kind of like T1 and Gen.G right now

posted about 2 years ago

Something I don't think people mentioned is that Penny had a really bad tournament in Challengers 2, and since he is V1's star player it hurt them pretty bad

posted about 2 years ago

I keep seeing people posting betting odds on match pages, but I can't find where you bet on valorant games. What sites do you guys use?

posted about 2 years ago

I think these comparisons are kind of pointless, TenZ and Asuna are obviously the top 2 duelists in NA, and most likely its just about whose better on the day. TenZ is more consistent and also plays on a lot higher ping so maybe he'll be better than Asuna on LAN, but Asuna hits much higher peaks than TenZ. But they are definitely close in skill so who cares

Really unfortunate situation, I wish the best of luck to the FF coach and his wife, hopefully they have a speedy recovery and we can see FF play in EMEA at full strength soon. I don't think this is Guild's fault if they didn't know about the FF coach's situation though.

Who thinks NV is gonna win Berlin? Most overrated team is probably TSM or FPX

posted about 2 years ago

I haven't looked at Brazil at all recently. Who are the best teams to make Berlin from Brazil, and how strong does the scene look like right now? How far do you think they will make it in Berlin?

posted about 2 years ago

ok, 100t icebox is apparently a lot better than i thought, ill move it to S

i thought XSET's split was S so i didn't put SEN there, SEN has enough S it's good to have some variation

posted about 2 years ago

bind is last by default since they permaban it

posted about 2 years ago

thats with a different roster, i said in the post that permabans are automatically f since we don't know how good they are

posted about 2 years ago

true, idt it should be S when Sentinels have like a 10 winstreak on Icebox or something though

posted about 2 years ago

SEN icebox is insane, I don't think they lost it since last Challengers Finals.

posted about 2 years ago

I didn't watch the XSET game, but I'll put them up to A since they did kind of destroy them. I just had them at B because NV beat them today in fairly good fashion, and I don't really count matches from the last stage into the ranking (the SEN match)

posted about 2 years ago

my takeaway from watching little bits of the SEN game that 100T can probably beat teams who permaban Split at Berlin (there are a lot) or teams from weaker regions, probably not many other teams

my takeaway from the 100T and NV game is that crashies played cypher

S tier: Best in the region (4 pts)
A tier: Top 2-3 in the region, good ideas and can be competitive/win against SEN (3 pts)
B tier: Okay map, can usually win against Tier 1.5 teams, and usually is somewhat close against SEN (2 pts)
C tier: Really shaky, usually struggle against top 6 teams (1 pt)
F tier: My gold teammates could play better than these guys

(Maps in the same tier are listed from strongest to weakest)

SEN:
S: Breeze, Bind, Icebox, Haven
A: Split
C: Ascent

Map Pool Score: 18

NV:
A: Haven, Ascent, Icebox, Bind
C: Breeze
F: Split

Map Pool Score: 13

100T:
S: Ascent, Icebox(S because SEN is pretty bad at Ascent)
A: Haven, Breeze
C: Split
F: Bind (by default since they don't ever play it)

Map Pool Score: 15

Thoughts? I don't watch too much val, especially non-NV games, so I'm interested in what you guys think. I was also going to rank XSET, but I didn't watch any of their games, so I'd love to hear thoughts on that.

posted about 2 years ago

how did NV go from top 2 NA split to this ???

posted about 2 years ago

LETS GO, finally some good NV news to wake up to

posted about 2 years ago

By playing KAY/O and doing absolutely nothing good with it

posted about 2 years ago

FPX needs to stop doing stupid shit and fix up their comps. They run different comps on all of their maps, and except the Icebox one none of them makes sense. For fucks sake stop using Breach and KAY/O, play Sova or put Zyppan on duelist again, it actually pains me to watch FPX.

posted about 2 years ago

Netero pls u just started getting ur stars back, don't do this

posted about 2 years ago

I like the XSET guys, but I hope Rise wins this game so NV can have the pick advantage, I think who picks the last map will be really important

posted about 2 years ago

mad that TSM bombed out so now ur shit-talking SEN on a year-old game, good one

posted about 2 years ago

If NV bans split like they did against TSM they lose for sure. I think banning Breeze is probably the smartest move, unless their Icebox is really unpracticed. I think NV is the better team on Ascent, while SEN is probably stronger on Breeze, Bind, and Icebox.

posted about 2 years ago

HOLY SHIT my heart on that 11-10 round

posted about 2 years ago

Just won TSM a round lmfao

posted about 2 years ago

One bad map doesn't mean anything, Subroza and Hazed are good players.

PUT SOME RESPECT IN DIABLO'S NAME

posted about 2 years ago

I like mummay and hope he finds a good home, but this is definitely an upgrade. Envy definitely look like a strong contender for Berlin now, and if Sentinels keeps not scrimming or whatever maybe we can have a rivalry at the top of NA again.

ENVY to the moon !!!

posted about 2 years ago

I wouldn't really worry too much about that, Gambit were probably just using it for practice. iirc Gambit bombed out of some Tier 2 tournament to OBG 0-2 with like 3-13 maps, but then went on to win Challengers flawlessly.
