Going on an anti-suicide promotion campaign over a harmless emoji tweet is soft. If you can't see that, you're just one of them. And you know what? You do that. Like I said, this shit happening every week is annoying to anybody who isn't this sensitive and that's why I'm moving on.

P.S. You can have dealt with suicide and not be sensitive to topics about suicide. I don't know where this conclusion came from that having experienced something = being unable to enjoy anything unless you're constantly sheltered from bad words and pictures.

but i truly do not think that being upset with an ORG/COMPANY making a joke about suicide is a snowflake thing to do, different people have different limits and suicide especially is a topic that will fluctuate person to person

But this is exactly what I mean. The escalation of a pretty harmless emoji post to, "this org is being incredibly unprofessional and promoting suicide when suicide is something people deal with on a day to day basis etc..." and people even bringing up past suicides like Twisten just to make the G2 post look a lot worse than it is.

Like, man, this stuff just looks so ridiculous.

Yeah but it's not just VLR, it's the community overall.

I think that Valorant has unfortunately attracted the particular crowd of people who are sheltered and sensitive over everything. I felt this when I started playing 2 years ago but thought I'd stick it out but I'm over it at this point. I barely played the game anymore recently but the outrage over that tweet + a prime representative of the game (Bren) calling the tweet a lobotomized post and banning people who disagree with him basically sealed the deal.

Yes, I made this account 5 minutes ago just to share my take.

I have been gaming for over a decade and Valorant is the first gaming community I have been involved with so much outrage against anything that isn't sunshine and rainbows. Every week it feels like there is new drama because half the community got offended at something of no significance.

As someone who actually likes to be involved in the community of the games I play, this shit gets exhausting. You know the type of friends who can never take a joke that isn't 100% politically correct? That shit is annoying right? Well, that is what it feels like to be a part of this community sometimes.

I'll take Bren's advice and be one of those people who is just going to find a different game/community where people aren't so fragile.

Edit: Logged out and gone now. Just wanted to leave a post for anyone who could relate to being tired of this community.
