73 kills in a BO3 vs ENVY yesterday and -13 vs QoR today

Oh I agree, I'm just saying his ceiling in T2 was always high. He's much better than 60% of the players in T2

posted 1 month ago

Demon1's ceiling is way higher than him and he has played with Jawgemo before so there's natural chemistry there between them. I'd also rather take a chance on Demon1 right now if Leaf isn't playing I'm really hoping it's not another Leo situation:(

better than being unemployed though it's not like another franchise team is going to pick him up rn

posted 1 month ago

I'm surprised a T2 F/A team or a team like TSM didn't take a chance on him after he got dropped by NAVI

posted 1 month ago

I was kind of surprised TSM got Timitino instead of Boni, he was fragging insanely heavy all this year

It's just a pug team for a non VCL event

Nice

Do you think we will see them make a men's team at some point and compete in challengers, or will they try and swoop in and steal a spot when Riot reevaluates teams in partnership?

posted 1 month ago

I think that's getting very overblown. It's not like we are going from Tejo meta to non-Tejo meta like a month ago. These teams will be fine; 1 week of practice is enough given the most recent changes. No team will have to fundamentally redo all their maps and comps.

posted 1 month ago

Explain why he's correct. You don't think 1 week is enough to prepare for a match? How is that any different from week to week when stages are going on? If anything the teams that were in EWC got to iron out any issues they had prior to Stage 2.

posted 1 month ago

I agree, the thing that I hate is that if NRG fails to make champs, Bren and all of them will just blame it on EWC, even if they get 5th place, which would be a great step in the right direction. If Chet/Mikes were still the coach and they had this much time before stage 2, I would be worried, but I don't have those same concerns with Bonkar. Despite losing, they did so much good stuff the last month with EWC qualifiers that I'd be shocked if they came out flat or flopped in the next stage. I hope s0m keeps competing, and we see this team get a full offseason together.

I agree, but unfortunately a lot of people do, and they are the biggest podcast in Valorant, so a lot of what they say actually skews how people think, even if it's wrong. They are basically the ESPN of Valorant. If you want actual analysis, they are not the place to get it, but if you just want to be entertained, then yeah, they're good at that.

posted 1 month ago

yeah, it makes no sense. We can't complain about lack of matches then yell at teams who decide to go out their way to play more matches.

posted 1 month ago

I think the idea that SEN/NRG won't be ready for Stage 2 because they played in EWC is ludicrous. We can't complain about their not being enough games, then get mad or try and say it's a detriment to these teams to play in more matches. This NRG roster is brand new, they have a brand new IGL, and just brought back their coach. I'd be more worried for them if they decided to skip EWC than them deciding to play in it. SEN is the same thing; despite being a team for months now, they are still trying to integrate Bang/N4RRATE and figure out what works (I would have preferred John to swap to Sentinel already, but I've given up on that).

posted 1 month ago

I stopped watching PlatChat a while ago. I'll tune in every so often, but I started to realize they don't do much actual analysis on the game. It's mostly just hot takes, memeing, etc., so I don't take much of what they say seriously. But I agree it was absurdly cringe (most of Bren's takes are from the times I've watched PlatChat, and sure, that's his thing to make hot takes and yell into the mic). Saying that SEN/NRG won't be ready for Stage 2 because they played EWC doesn't really make sense to me. It's not like they have to fundamentally change everything they are doing, like when the Tejo meta ended. Everyone complains that there aren't enough matches then when teams go out of their way to play in matches they are told to stop...

posted 1 month ago

I mean sure but money is absolutely a factor even if it's minimal compared to prestige or "aura." I still think teams at EWC care about Champs which is the main point

posted 1 month ago

He's a cornball

posted 1 month ago

He said "If you participated in EWC you are admitting you care more about money than winning" like what? No shit the orgs/players want more money... but that doesn't mean they don't care about Champs

posted 1 month ago

ok

posted 1 month ago

Bren ranting that teams that participated in EWC don't care about champs like what is this guy yapping about 😭

posted 1 month ago

What's been so bad about it? The playoffs include the Top 2 teams from the last Masters among other good teams?

posted 1 month ago

Franchising just ruined everyones perception of tournaments. I just don't understand how you can just discredit a tournament bc it doesn't say VCT in front of it

posted 1 month ago

People are comparing it to T3 Valorant events like the best teams in the world aren't competing in it. If you consider Lock In a Major with its single-elim format, idk how you would discredit this event. People cry there aren't enough matches then when a non-VCT event happens everyone says it doesn't matter lol. This isn't the same as SOOP, Red Bull Homegrounds etc., bc those events have less than 8 teams present; this one has 16. Not sure how you can think teams aren't trying either, do people think the players don't want 500k?

"invented lurking"

posted 1 month ago

I'll cry laughing if Cryo gets dropped before Asuna

posted 1 month ago

Cryo has singlehandedly won you multiple series this season and you want him gone lmao... also Zander doesn't want to IGL anymore.

posted 1 month ago

That's true, I'm surprised they never experimented with Asuna on Omen. Thinking about it now it would suit him well because his utility is genuinely insane.

posted 1 month ago

I'd agree with that. You can also make the case that Cryo never should have been placed on Raze (but he likely was doing well in scrims, so they went with it). They could have put him on Omen (OR SENTINEL LIKE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR YEARS) more since they eventually put bang in Viper jail anyways. Imo they should have leaned into double duelist more. Cryo Jett + Asuna Raze probably would have worked out better than what they did even if the comp wasn't meta. Mikes biggest issue was putting players on agents/roles that didn't fit them. I'll also give Cryo some leeway for his Raze performances because it was directly after Chamber meta where he was more of a lurker, so he wasn't really in the mindset to play a hard entry. His success on Yoru and his aggressiveness on Yoru the last year makes me think he could develop into a good or average Raze player if he was required to play it now.

Derrek def got unlucky and it was braindead when he was put on Harbor on Pearl when Sova was still viable. I think Mikes was good at defensive setups as an AC like you said but I wouldn't want him to have input on comps or anything offensive related. I still believe in Zikz personally, and but would love to give him another year with a different IGL. If that goes south, I'd say it's time to move on. If they could do Happy and Zikz as AC like he was on EG I'd be more down for that than a 3rd reunion with Mikes, I don't love the idea of Stellar and Mikes being on the same team again.

You would be correct

i remember when this dude was playing on teal seam when he was 14 with Seven (the original canezerra type hyped up player). Hopefully he can develop into a T1 player, it's crazy I've been watching this dude in T2 for this long he's bounced around so many F/A teams

posted 1 month ago

idk I thought it was kind of hard but Victor is definitely better than jacob

posted 1 month ago

why tf did he name swap to "jacob" lost all his aura (ik its his name). It's like Victor swapping from food.

posted 1 month ago

My CTE but N4RRATE off Fade would be a mistake

posted 1 month ago

There's zero patience for SEN it's weird. They replaced 2 of the best players on their team for 2 younger players and still have made every international this year, getting better results in the 2nd than the 1st. People need to relax and realize them not winning an event this year doesn't mean changes have to be made.

posted 1 month ago

Zellsis isn't the problem man but if you're replacing him I'd rather have try NiSMO because at least you know he has a good mental and will keep the team in check similar to Sacy. Also, N4RRATE on flashes and Zellsis on recon makes no sense.

posted 1 month ago

Gotcha. I like the idea of Cryo being on a secondary duelist in certain comps compared to being asked to entry 24/7. I'm glad they leaned heavily into him on Yoru despite losing at EWC because he is clearly very good with him. I also agree with your Asuna point; whenever I ask for him to be replaced, people take it as me trashing on him, but you just can't go 5 years with him and have no success. He will have personal success elsewhere where he gets to play agents like Fade/Kayo/etc. full time, but he makes no sense on the current roster where he is asked to play Neon/Raze on a consistent basis. People often think because you are aggressive means you should be on duelist which isn't true. Love the idea of Keiko replacing him.

posted 1 month ago

I threw this idea around in another sub, my reasoning was that Mike’s was more of the issue than Stellar. Stellar didn't have guys like Zander/Eeiu on the team to help him with calling (they also didn't have a real coaching staff, which was a whole other issue.)

posted 1 month ago

Neither him nor Vora really play Senti (outside of Sage for Vora), but both play Initiator, and Kyu has played Viper in the past. I just think he's a better caller than Vora, where Vora is a better fragger. If you get Keiko, wouldn't he be on Omen on certain maps, which would allow Zander to swap to Viper? Or would Cryo play Omen, and Keiko play Raze/Neon on maps like Lotus, for example?

posted 1 month ago

Also, I'm pretty sure Eeiu does a lot of preround setup stuff as well for the team or at least that's what I heard him say in an interview earlier in the year.

posted 1 month ago

I think Ethan struggling had more to do with the team environment and Chet than his ability as an IGL. He's looking fine as an IGL now that he has a real coach. I don't think anyone on the roster should swap to IGL but I was just saying it makes more sense for him to do it than zander considering zander doesn't want too.

posted 1 month ago

you're a TSM fan you gamble on your mental every match unfortunately

posted 1 month ago

I agree, if you are swapping someone on the roster to IGL it would be eeiu not Zander. Zander has said numerous times he doesn't want to IGL again and only did it on M80 bc he had too bc no one else wanted to do it after Johnqt left.
