Subbing in Babybay pretty much confirms to me that he'll only be out for the start of the stage or the entire stage then back for Champs. If they seriously thought it was a season ending illness they would have invested resources into a better sub.

People forget Nightz was hyped up like Cane before joining Cubert, and Cane turned into the monster he is now. The difference is Cane already knew how to play different agents where Nightz was only good on Clove. Nightz is slowly getting better at other smoke agents but still needs time to develop where Cane is already a superstar.
