the problem is that as soon as they played an elimination game it was just Aspas 1v5 against G2. Yeah MIBR can win a regular season game against L0vi0t0n without aspas performing, but when it comes to the big games, the new guys still need to prove themselves against the top teams.
what you say is probably true, but still most of the tournaments, the favorite to win doesnt win, and its very likely to happen again since Toronto will be played with the Tejo nerfs and there probably will be meta shifts where a team people doesnt expect to win, wins
fnatic were known as chokers before 2023. you're saying that with the hindsight of their wins in 2023. Boaster and Derke were basically the stax and Buzz (pre-bangkok) of EMEA. Alfajer and Leo were not in conversations for best player itw(the best players were playing in Optic, LOUD, FPX, DRX and PRX). The only "big" name at that time before lockin on that team was Chronicle with his 2021 win with Gambit.
at Lockin you had the LOUD core as the current World Champions. NRG had the Optic core, that had 1st, 3rd and 2nd as their placements the year before and NAVI had FPX players as the last EMEA champions (Masters Copenhagen). DRX were also very good as they placed 3rd at Champions 2022
i didnt include EG in favorites for Champs 2023 because FNC were probably the most HEAVY favorites to win a tournament at that time, the narrative was "who will stop FNC?"
which one of these are just not true?
I think most of them are true
thats why i said that "rarely" the team that is the favorite to win actually wins in Valorant
For a lot of the tournaments for the last 3 years its been something like this (correct me if im wrong):
favorites for Copenhagen: Optic
winners: FPX
favorites for Champions 2022: FPX, PRX, Optic
winners: LOUD
favorites for Lockin: LOUD, NRG, NAVI
winners: FNC
favorites for Tokyo: LOUD, PRX (FNC lost EMEA finals)
winners: FNC
favorites for Champions 23: FNC
winners: EG
favorites for Madrid: PRX, GENG, KC, TH
winners: SEN
favorites for Shanghai: PRX, 100T
winners: GENG
favorites for Champions 2024: GENG, LEV, G2, DRX, TH, FNC
winners: EDG
favorites for Bangkok: Vitality, G2
winners: T1
favorites for Toronto: G2, TH
winners: ???
The favorite team to win the tournament rarely actually wins the tournament in Valorant
there is no gap, but calling f0rsaken the goat flex because "he plays more agents than everyone else" is just wrong. He needs to win something, and then he will have a great case for "goat flex"
Chronicle won 3 international tournaments in Valorant. F0rsaken needs to win 1 to be called the "The Greatest Flex player of all time in Valorant"
Forsaken
Greatest Flex player of all time in Valorant
weird way to spell "Chronicle"
if it goes to 5 maps, Jemkin needs to average 21 kills per map in the next 2 maps, very doable
demon1 and yay. Tenz also had an insane fall off in 2022/2023
Invite Yay, Marved, crashies, Victor, Sacy, pANcada, Less, saadhak, Aspas is already going to be there
One last LOUD vs Optic
bro just cant stop taking L's. Even boombl4 stopped a little with the coke to go cook him on twitter
trexx's biggest achievement in Valorant was to play with Less and Derke
Derke, because trexx being weird and arrogant is a known fact
and where Vitality is using their util? Are they dying with their full kit?
They are giving him util, the problem is that they are not coordinated, playing in wrong pacing and the trades and proper spacing arent there in this attack side. Its a full team problem and Derke is also part of it
and s0yf is ass holy shit
he doesnt need to force useless entries like a human drone with no follow up. A good duelist needs to coordinate with his team
Ty for warning me, im gonna go get some sleep now
that yellow hair was a mistake, insane aura deficit
whats Derke best placements at Champions events?
Neymar wins 2010 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards ๐ฅ
bro spawned with 4 upfrags๐ญ
hop off the alts
only FNS level aimers complain about maps like Breeze and Icebox
to be fair it was only 1 game and the opponent duelist was LEV aspas
normal aspas is 2-1 against prime Leo, im taking prime aspas
Trent when he is not using his Tejo iPad:

hard to not compare, LEV were so tuff last year and now their only wins were against 58 years old FURIA raafa
everything is "bait", "rage bait", nowadays. No one is ever just DUMB anymore
What about accepting the existence of stupid people having stupid opinions?
yes it is noticeable (never had any of these monitors)
