I agree I was horrendously addicted to video games when I was in uni, I went to a really competitive school and it heavily affected my performance. I ended up having to take 3 extra semesters because I felt so unmotivated all I did was smoke, hang out with friends, work my shitty part time job and play cs. Nothing productive at all. It took me a while to get over it and I can relate to you, my attention span for valuable things slumped and the only thing I would do consistently was go to the gym, where I actually felt good for 2 hours a day. Its an easy hole to dig yourself into and a tough one to climb out of, but recognition of it is a huge start. What got me back on track was the reality when it hit me, my school graded by curve and I was never anywhere near the top, my relationship with my (now) ex was deteriorating, my parents kept nagging me about my bachelors, and I felt like I would be stuck in this phase forever. Honestly the best thing to do is take a decent break from the game and reset your dopamine receptors. Seek therapy, put yourself in social situations where you would normally feel uncomfortable until you do become comfortable, and do things you KNOW are good for you. It won't feel the same as playing video games at first, but touching grass is the best thing a someone like u can do. As you develop habits you will start to enjoy them more and get that same dopamine rush doing those things as you did when you played valorant. Its really tough because those habits are really ingrained in you but you have to push through it. Legit my advice is drop the game and touch grass, unironically. Video game addiction is a very real problem that is overlooked, so don't feel like a piece of shit. I bet a bunch of people on this forum have it too. Keep ur head up hackninja.
