17-2 first kill diff on Lotus. Hard to win when that happens.

As good as marved and sinatraa are with support from zombs, I don't think they'll be able to carry prod and dizzy past this part of the tournament.

TenZ is so good on Jett but the impact isn't there on any other agent. Idk why they don't try him on Chamber. Surely it's better than his Raze on Fracture,

Zeta completely neutralized Victor's Neon (-6 in First Kill differential) and still lost. Damn

I put my first option and every other person who I think is top tier in that role in brackets
There are so many cracked duelists so it's probably the easiest role to fill as a GM
trent is in a league of his own as Sova/Initiator in NA

smokes + igl: zander (vanity)
duelist: cryocells (yay/sayaplayer/penny/tenz/asuna)
initiator: trent
flex/second duelist: leaf (xeppaa/sick)
flex/sentinel/second smokes: wippie (mitch)

Team Social Media (TSM) is an amazing team. They are most known for their signature tactic "skipping Mickey Mouse tournaments, then failing to qualify for VCT Challengers". They also have a second little known tactic of DQing the other team by tweeting mid match. What absolute legends. Top 3 NA team for sure.

So about the Free Hong Kong movement. The point I was trying to make was that like you said, people who were born in Hong Kong were concerned and protesting against the CCP. However, people born in mainland China were actually interrupting the demonstrations of the Hong Kong people in countries outside of China. So the point I was trying to make was that the Chinese people being very nationalistic and patriotic, not the Hong Kong people.

If I Google "most patriotic countries", the first link is from borgenmagazine which places USA as #1 most patriotic country. However, it gives basically no explanation for the ranking, and references an article from Forbes from 2008. The Forbes article also makes no attempt as explaining why they put USA at #1. The second link is a poll where they asked people in different countries if they thought they lived in the best country in the world. And US topped the poll with 41% of their sample believing they lived in the best country in the world. To me, that is not a very good example of patriotism, but I guess this is a pretty subjective topic.

Anyways, you asked me for why I think China and South Korea is more patriotic than the US, and I gave them to you.

posted about 2 years ago

Can you give me some examples of what makes you think US is more patriotic than China?

I feel like USA is patriotic at surface level - chanting USA at sporting events, flying flags on their porches, etc.. But plenty of Americans are divided on many issues at a political level, or don't care about what their country does at all on the international stage. Just as an example, many Americans are laughing and criticizing their own country for their actions in Afghanistan 20 years ago after what happened over the last few weeks.

Now, let's look at China. When the Free Hong Kong movement was happening around the world and people were demonstrating in solidarity, Chinese nationalists were interrupting the demonstrations in cities around the world. Canada, Australia, UK to mention a few. Chinese netizens are also extremely defensive about any criticism towards their country online.

As for Israel and South Korea, the people from both countries have been oppressed heavily throughout history. One of the contributing reasons for their patriotism is this shared suffering. In fact, there is even a term for this in Korean called Han. Furthermore, when a Korean athlete does something great on the world stage, Koreans are particularly proud of the person for being Korean. News channels will broadcast news of their achievements centering heavily about how great and proud they are to have them represent their country on an international stage. They will do this for weeks if not months. Examples: athletes like Kim Yuna, Park Jisung, Son Heungmin, Haseong Kim, etc...

Anyways, that's my reasoning as to why I think these countries are more patriotic than USA. But I'm open to discussion as to why you think otherwise.

I don't find that Americans are that patriotic. Sure they are a bit more than the average country. But I think they are beat by other countries like Israel, South Korea and China.

That's generally how seeding works

I don't think EU has better aim necessarily. Derke is considered a top aimer from EU along with ScreaM, cNed and Zyppan and he's struggling this series. It's only 2 maps and he might have mouse trouble so I'm not going to draw any conclusions. But at the very least, I won't say EU has better aim than NA.

posted about 2 years ago

Sentinels didn't get here with aim alone. Also, Fnatic has cracked aimers too.

Sharks are so bad. Worst team in the tournament by a mile.

S Tier: EU
A Tier: NA, CIS
B Tier: BR, TR, KR
C Tier: JP, OCE, LATAM, SEA

EU is strong overall region so I gave them S tier.
NA only has 1 contender (SEN), but a handful of other strong teams that suffer from inconsistency (100T, NV). C9 and V1 looking decent = A Tier
CIS, the game isn't that popular there yet. Gambit is quite strong though, up there with the best EU teams. So in reality, it's Gambit that is A Tier.
BR I don't really know, will have to wait until Iceland. They could be A tier.
TR just got slapped by EU, Oxygen still took out Guild, so I gave them B tier.
KR is kinda top heavy, and their "best" team is a bunch of tier 3 CS pros. So I gave them B tier.

Victor was playing Skye like a Phoenix. Running in with his hawks like they are phoenix flashes.

Individually, I think 100T have what it takes to beat Envy. Steel and nitr0 are more impactful in their roles (sentinel and controller) than FNS and mummay. Victor and Asuna are both cracked duelists, but with Victor being more consistent. Ethan seems to have found his groove with Sage and I would value him over Kaboose. I will definitely give crashies the edge over Hiko since he is probably best Sova NA, but Hiko has his clutch moments.

Either way, should be a fun matchup.

Ethan with 10 opening kills this series as a Sage. What a beast

Yea they were really sweating as you can tell by the odins and 13-0 on Split

Sorry Brax, your old team sucks too much for the revenge match to even happen.

The flexibility and skill from the core of tenz, sick and shahzam are insane. Coupled with solid anchoring from dapr and zombs, they just seem unbeatable right now. Just a treat to watch.

Surprised we didn't get the classic my brother was using my account excuse.
Get fucked cheater.

I switch between these 3:
Razer Viper Ultimate, Logitech G703, Logitech G Pro Wireless

Want to get my hands on a G Pro Wireless Superlight

Yes, but I play Valorant instead now because of how many cheaters are in CS, I ran into one around every 6 games.
I still think CS has more satisfying gunplay and higher mechanical skill ceiling.
However, Valorant keeps it fresh with new agents, and I'm excited to see how the game will develop. Whereas CS has basically not changed in years.

My wishlist for Valorant:
-better maps in the future (the ones in CS are more interesting imo, I really dislike split but the other maps are ok, ascent is probably my favorite)
-higher skill ceiling for gunplay (some combination of increasing consistency of spray pattern, increase movement speed, decrease tagging but keep aimpunch for headshot, nerf run and gun more)

Make your dream team from NA players. Here's mine:

TenZ (Jett/OPer)
SicK (Duelist/Flex)
Crashies (Sova)
nitr0 (IGL/Flex)
Ethan (Smokes)

Winner gets to face XSET first round in Masters, followed by the winner of Envy/GenG
Loser has to face Immortals, followed by the winner of Sentinels/LG

Even though it's a seeding match, the result is important to get an easier run at Masters.

posted about 3 years ago

nitr0 was actually primary awper during liquid's prime

posted about 3 years ago

Yep, but playing for fun must be so different from playing in a competitive setting. It's probably much more difficult to face a coordinated exec from a pro team compared to what you normally face in a pub. Which is why it's all the more impressive that he's able to hold his ground at the pro level after only 1 or 2 weeks of playing with 100T.

posted about 3 years ago

Oh wow I didn't know the Masters event was coming up so fast.
Did they release the circuit points breakdown based on placement in Masters yet?

posted about 3 years ago

The gamble picking up Ethan right before the qualifiers paying off.
He's improving so fast, and they were able to qualify for Masters. No more pressure for the rest of the tournament.
They got so much time until Masters to improve now.

You can reply to my post using the reply button under the post itself. I agree I didn't put teamplay into account, because I didn't want my post to get too long.
I'm more comparing the people on each role though.
So asuna vs droid is the duelist comparison, steel vs daps is the sentinel/IGL comparison, etc..

Regardless, the current 100 Thieves roster has only been together for like 1 week. But I think their collective experience from CS more than makes up for it.

posted about 3 years ago

Asuna = Android (Asuna is better but has been inconsistent lately, they are both cracked duelists though)
Hiko = eeiu (both solid Sova players, Hiko better support Sova, eeiu frags more for his team, they both do what is needed from them by their team)
Ethan = s0m (Ethan is better mechanically, top 20 CS player at one point. he's very new to the game but has nitr0 and steel to help guide him, s0m is a great player)
nitr0 > Shanks (nitr0 is just much more experienced and has higher ACS than Shanks while playing only Omen his whole pro career so far)
Steel > Daps (both great IGLs, but Steel is a better fragger)

Don't get me wrong, both teams are absolutely stacked, but I think this goes 2-1 100 Thieves

posted about 3 years ago

I agree with your post, but Ethan is not a better aimer than Brehze.

posted about 3 years ago

Sentinels is 3/5 CS players anyways.

posted about 3 years ago

Cuz the previous match ended too fast. They just start the match right after the previous one ends.

posted about 3 years ago

Every team has players that solo sites, zombs is not unique in that regard. Just think of someone like aproto, dude anchors sites and is almost always good for at least 2 frags. There are also plenty of players who know how to use Omen's abilities at his level.

Him meshing will with the team is a good point you make, but his fragging ability is clearly lacking. Dude rocked an 84 ACS in the first game. I mean come on 6 frags, and 4 assists in 23 rounds. That's really bad.

If you look at Sentinels last 10 series played, he's literally bottom of the board in almost all of them except 2.

It's definitely something worth looking at if you're managing Sentinels.

posted about 3 years ago

Hmm, is 230 really average? I'm looking at the stats for the Champions Tour NA Challengers 1 and the average seems closer to 200.

posted about 3 years ago

Pretty new to watching Valorant competitive but watch a lot of pro CS
Could someone knowledgeable in both give me an equivalent of ACS to HLTV Rating

In CS,
1.1 rating is "pulling your weight", 1.2 is good, 1.3 is really good
Anything above 1.4 means you're just straight up carrying.
I would say ~1.05 rating is average.

What are some ACS equivalents?
Here's my crappy table, feel free to correct me.

.........................CS.........Valorant
Average........1.05.........200?
Decent...........1.1..........225?
Good..............1.2..........250?
Very Good......1.3.........275?
Carrying.........1.4+...... 300?

Also what's a good ADR in Valorant?
In CS:
~70-75 is average
80 is decent
90 is good
100 is very good

They're missing nitr0 sure, but a tier 1 team shouldn't be losing to some orgless team. Dicey bottom fragging is just yikes.
