posted about a year ago

Yes, I think so.
NACS is in a better position then where it was a year ago.
Although the top of NACS is at an all time low.

There is a lot more salaried teams and decent regional teams that is important to the regions development.
The likes of nouns/nrg/pa/elevate/m80/boss/wildcard are providing better competition domestically.

NACS just needs the top teams to make that 1 correct roster moves that can propel the teams forward.
M80 for example got really unlucky with the timing of Mankz stepping down, and were forced to play kato/rmr with dephh. (dephh actually did alright considering the circumstances)
With a proper eu meta igl they probably would've made the major. (they almost made it with dephh)

Revived in what context?
Pro play? Casual?

I would say paper rex is up there aswell.

I honestly think pancada just rides his contract out at sentinels.
Contract ends at the end of the season.
It's unlikely Brazilian orgs could match the pay he gets on sentinels.
Joining a team like furia would most likely just lower his market value.

Or he could wait for 2025.
More potential opportunities.
More time to practise and get integrated.

I've watched a few games here and there, that westside guy looks incredible, very good mechanics.

I truly believe you could built a VCT level polish roster. So much talent.

posted about a year ago

These are solid signings in this current market.
Both players with decent experience and i could see them easily fitting into that c9 roster.

Who else would you want them to get?

It's probably just timing/luck based.
I did bump the post a few times with more information aswell.
Most of the time when a post is not in the side bar it just fades away.

If you are interested in seeing some gameplay from the team:

This is a link to the Grand finals of MVT 2: Winter and the final map of ascent in "The Imperials" vs Kobolds

(this was streamed on December the 8th)

Or some general highlights from the Mongolian pro scene:

Yeah its awesome to see.
Also I believe the region/team may be eligible to compete in HK/TW, which now provides Mongolia a viable root and pathway to VCT.

A big organisation in the emerging Mongolian esports scene has announced their entrance to Valorant with the signing of "The Imperials".
The roster consists of the core of Shugden Business who had success winning the "MVT One: Fall"

The roster:
consz (duelist)
mnfear (Initiator + igl)
cinjvv (Sentinel)
onenineteen (Controller)
skyisblue (flex)

They will be playing at the "MESA MVT2 : Finals" in under a weeks time.

EDIT:
https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=803942165098743&set=a.629760172516944
I have discovered some information that the team may have qualified to the HK/TW promotion series due to them progressing through riot's premier system.

https://x.com/CaseEsports/status/1728014777748754627?s=20

Both statements indicate that foxie + patitek left due in part to "The new coach's way of thinking, who has a different vision and idea for the team"

Correct me if im wrong but the old roster was constructed by LRojo who left and was replaced by Onur.

In actuality it doesn't change much.
Just like in GSL, 2 wins and you qualify , 2 losses and you are out.

The changes for (8 team, 4 region) swiss would likely be:

  1. Potential for no repeated matchups (normally swiss stages prevent repeated matchups, however riot has allowed repeated matchups in the past)
  2. Potential for inter-region matchups.

Example of repeated matchup in GSL:
(BLG vs NRG) or (T1 vs FUT) or (EDG vs GIANTS) at Champions 2023 , swiss should reduce the repeated match count.

Most "issues" with formats stem from seedings and draws, this will likely be the same for swiss.

Yes... because Sacy and Pancada are from the Americas.
Brazil is a part of the Americas.

I wouldn't say sentinels' sunset is unbreakable.

Their split on the other hand is very strong.
A wide variety of setups on the defense and very good protocols/decision making.
9 times out of 10 they are making the correct plays.

posted about a year ago

Fisher might win this one.

posted about a year ago

Not enough of an overlap to become a serious issue.
The playoffs are on at different times, the valorant final is a week before.

Besides valorant has carved out enough of a niche/different audience.
and the biggest "clout" orgs are at madrid.

Floor: The worst case for a team.
Ceiling: The best case for a team.
Prediction: What I personally think EMEA will look like next split

| TEAM | FLOOR | CEILING | PREDICTION |
|----------|-------|---------|------------|
| FNC | 4th | 1st | 1st |
| KC | 4th | 1st | 2nd |
| TH | 4th | 1st | 3rd |
| VITALITY | 7th | 1st | 4th |
| FUT | 8th | 2nd | 5th |
| NAVI | 8th | 2nd | 6th |
| GIANTX | 9th | 4th | 7th |
| KOI | 11th | 4th | 8th |
| LIQUID | 11th | 3rd | 9th |
| M8 | 11th | 6th | 10th |
| BBL | 11th | 4th | 11th |

LIST PRIOR TO KICK//OFF : Here

What has changed?

  • KC and TH have looked way more complete then I predicted at the start of the year.
Although I was relatively positive about both squads as a whole, I thought it may take a while for them to reach their potential.

  • NAVI and Liquid seem to be plagued with the same issues both teams had last year, despite making roster changes.

  • Vitality still have Trexx as an ace up their sleave, individually he is superb and it could really propel vitality into a good position.

  • FNC felt a bit stagnant in terms of what they were playing, a few tweaks were made here and there but teams have now started to understand how they are playing due to them being the big fish in EMEA last year.
The squad is still incredible and some time off and extra motivation might be what the team needs in the long run.

Overall level of the league is higher, there is positives to say about almost every team.

It doesn't really effect us at all.
Fnatic has already lived up to their potential.
Right now FNC are in a bit of a slump, sometimes you need a setback like this to motivate the team to do better.

Me personally, I want to see heretics win madrid. Home crowd + likable squad.

posted about a year ago

Maybe just maybe anti stratting isn't as easy as people think.
Especially with teams/players that have a deep understanding of the map and don't just play off of set plays.

Zest has just parted ways with IAM.

posted about a year ago

Regardless of what happened in 2023, kc looks perfect for him.
It seemed like they gave him a lot of faith to rebuild the team, and he has repaid them 10 fold.

Even if they lost today, what this roster has shown so far is still remarkable.
Beating fnatic is the icing on the cake and statement that KC are ready to fight for championships.

posted about a year ago

He has such a brilliant mind for the game.
Very insightful and interesting post game interview.

The idea to scrim 3v2 / late game scenarios inhouse is super smart.
Optimising aspects of the pracc times and honing in on specific scenarios is clever.

Comp wise a lot variety and freshness to their approaches.

( props to ze1sh , fistie and magnum aswell)

posted about a year ago

its over.

props to kc.
Bringing a lot of new stuff to the table and deservedly win.

posted about a year ago

Their lotus was almost uncontestably for the whole of 2023 (Except versus loud), other teams have caught up and learnt though.

Wouldn't be surprised if they switch up their vetoes going forward.
Maybe start leaning towards ascent.

Split will be interesting though, fnatic have not played it in a while
Also should kc play double duelist so its a fun watch.

  1. Map differential
  2. Round differential

Yeah my bad.
I was scanning through the Brazilian coach roundabout and got lost.

Honestly the fundamentals and the structure is solid.
Frod + bzka seems like a good setup.
Mazin calling is decent.
If they could start adding better pieces or pieces with higher firepower in the future they could be a pretty solid team.

Uhhh like the average strength of the group

Karmine CORP have shown a lot of maps and almost the majority of their map pool.
Fnc should have the extra advantage going into it.

Disappointing result for Vit considering they won 4/4 pistols.
Only "upside" is the fact they were playing with a sub.
However KC were just better plain and simple.

Lev actually looked good for the most part.
Just remember what teams they were playing.

Would they look "average" versus c9/furia/mibr?

Instead of being top 5 in rating... has he tried being on a top 5 team?

Aussie internet.
don't spoil the result for them.

I saw someone say "they shouldve went for boostio instead of tex".
and i cant stop thinking about that.
Would've made the swap to english make more sense + allow kingg to focus on what he does best... frag.

The floor of emea has definitely raised.
Heretics looked solid, although I need to see more maps from them.
KC and VIT look very interesting.
Navi have looked better this year with ardiis back.
Fnatic is fnatic.
I do agree that the old "3/4/5" has weakened but the league is better this year 100%.
