no shot tenz buyout is higher than yays

posted about 2 years ago

think of it like this

t1 starts in kr, gives up and goes to na
in na, they do even worse than they did in kr, and have scandals to boot. no viewership or anything.
they still stay in na even though coming back to korea would help boost their performance and their region.
franchising rumours happen.
t1 realises they have no chance of getting in na franchising - even though they said they would stay in na.

they basically run back like cowards to korea and try to secure franchising because they're an lck org.

it's like ur gf breaks up w u for another guy, u stay struggling but eventually bing chilling and eventually hit a W, and then she comes crawling back asking to be ur gf again because she used to be ur gf.

didnt damwon get third

posted about 2 years ago

that's fucked up. i didn't see it but i heard something along the lines of what he said.

i'd consider myself to be on friendly terms with the guy but he shouldn't have to resort to racist insults. shameful.

posted about 2 years ago

rude.

posted about 2 years ago

yeah. Damwon was loyal, first LCK org to stay with KR, now look at them.

Fucking disgrace tbh.

How we feeling about the slots

i dont like that damwon isnt in franchising tbh

posted about 2 years ago

bts fell off after they got big in NA

posted about 2 years ago

so is it 32 teams instead of 30?

posted about 2 years ago

he was dogshit on LAN and notoriously cannot OP.

posted about 2 years ago

Big Bang better than BTS

posted about 2 years ago

wait that's weird - it doesn't make sense.

10 teams in APAC, and as far as we know, the APAC League doesn't include China.
But there will only be 30 teams at Brazil. So how is China getting a spot?

posted about 2 years ago

damwon beat sentinels??

posted about 2 years ago

thats a fucked up way to ask a question.

i vaguely remember that guy. he doesnt really leak as much as these other names right?

posted about 2 years ago

everyone gets shit wrong sometimes nobody has 100% success rate with leaks except maybe George Geddes and even then i'm sure that guy has gotten something wrong before too.

Sideshow used to cast Overwatch games

posted about 2 years ago

yeah im thinking its either ow or sudden attack too. but there are lots of young kids who have valorant as their first game that are just super fuckin cracked - and buzz is very young too.

posted about 2 years ago

i believe he'll be fine. his raw aim is nutty, and according to mCe he was doing amazing as Chamber in scrims, so it's just a matter of translating it to a real game.

posted about 2 years ago

yeah tbh. almost all JP orgs import KR talent anyway.

posted about 2 years ago

wow, BuZz is 2nd? thats insane. i assume its the FPX Ascent game.
dropping almost 40 on the defending world champions...

posted about 2 years ago

lmao yeah he got caught for cheating

posted about 2 years ago

yeah i didnt hear about him regarding other games. tbh i doubt he played cs, it will probably be some other game. or perhaps valorant is his first game.

posted about 2 years ago

true it will. it's possible these pros have been practicing in secret tho

posted about 2 years ago

yeah. normally i wouldnt say anything tbh (thats not a good thing actually, i should work on it) but i think if any fanbase deserves respect its the japanese

posted about 2 years ago

Sounds weird but "Jap" is actually a slur in some places! Perhaps it's better to say JP? I think we should treat JP fans with the same amount of respect they treat us.

posted about 2 years ago

true, babybay had CS experience and that helped him transition.

posted about 2 years ago

right but Xzi still smurfed vs VS, so i think it's possible

posted about 2 years ago

yeah, they should. I hope they do, but ngl it would be spicy to see KR teams vs SEA/JP teams. If DRX were the kings of Asia despite not having the best Korean players, imagine a KR superteam...

posted about 2 years ago

technically the VS roster was a bunch of washed CS pros

posted about 2 years ago

mechanics wise they'll tear it up. strats can be taught.

look at babybay. he was nothing compared to KR OWL pros.
look at sayaplayer. guy was famous for his widow aim for sure, and he had the 3rd highest acs at reykjavik despite Guard going 0-2. there are pros better than saya 100%.

i wish we saw valorant before overwatch. imagining players like Carpe, Profit, Saebyeolbe, Pine, ANS, Stitch, Alarm, Decay, Viol2t, Jjonak, the list goes on and on...

posted about 2 years ago

prob didnt play any games professionally. dude was in high school when he started valorant

posted about 2 years ago

KR gets 5 slots is KR OWL pros are switching over.

No offense to other Asian regions but if Tier 1 OWL pros switch to Valorant it's gonna be such a huge talent boost. KR is already lowkey an anomaly with such a high amount of talent compared to the viewerbase/playerbase - having OWL pros would be insane.

Xzi, an OWL pro was smurfing on VS in a showmatch.

^highlights of Xzi in Overwatch. Clean aim.

Dude it is so fucking unlucky that ORDER blew up

posted about 2 years ago

if u are unbiased u will say yay

posted about 2 years ago

it's possible.
As for VLR rankings, those don't mean SQUAT.
Don't forget the number of Korean talent in Japan.
Look at Utage. F/A Import roster Team Medusa won that tournament.

posted about 2 years ago

1 of 5 korean orgs.
leaning towards.

Like I said - it's not impossible but very unlikely.

posted about 2 years ago

wow yeah i totally forgot SEA is a titan in mobile gaming

posted about 2 years ago

Korean orgs realistically look for domestic players. The LCK for example has almost never imported a foreign player. In Overwatch, KR teams have never imported foreign players.

Only in games where KR has little to no talentbase will KR orgs field mixed or imported rosters, but with Valorant's rise in popularity that seems dubious.

posted about 2 years ago

Gen. G is KR/US and looking through their hidtory they are more US than KR tbh..

As many regular users may know, I'm a big advocate for Asia Pride.

5 slots is objectively a huge W. We're probably the only region that has made major exports to other major regions (Sayaplayer and Xeta to NA, Munchkin, Medusa, Meteor, Allow, Foxy9, Suggest, HSK, JoXJo, Hate, Bazzi, iNTRO, Seoldam, Astell, and more to JP)

However, I can't help but feel that 5 slots is too much. We definitely have the potential to field more than one good team. We know DRX playerwise is not a superteam; MaKo was not the best controller player in KR when he was picked up - he was a Jett player at first. BuZz used to play Sentinel and Omen for Rio Company.
Don't forget that we have achieved a podium finish 2 years in a row with 2 different rosters.

But to take away important slots from SEA, and especially JAPAN, which has lowkey carried the viewership side of Valorant in Asia, feels like betrayal.

Even EMEA could not have 5 teams capable of contending for a trophy. There were max 3-4 EMEA teams that could realistically win a Masters at any one point in time (4/4 EMEA teams in playoffs at Champs 2021)
GMB
ACE
FNC
TL
Definitely the most out of any region we've seen so far, but this goes to show it's absurd to get 5 slots. The historically strongest Valorant region (not only region, but several different regions - EMEA is more than 1 continent) probably couldn't have 5 title contending teams.

I lowkey feel we don't deserve it. 3 teams is the best possible outcome for us. 4 would be a dream. 5 is lunacy.

posted about 2 years ago

FPX could be the best team in the world.

If they played the way they did during Copenhagen.

posted about 2 years ago

what are some huge Indo orgs in other games? Idk the Dota scene, but what about OWL/CS/League etc?

posted about 2 years ago

okay i wont lie KR teams are very very unlikely to have players that aren't Korean. It's like how ZETA is full Japanese.

posted about 2 years ago

1st is league, 40%
2nd is like <10% LOL

i queued california servers and they are legitinately the lowest quality servers i've ever played in.

if you're imm in cali you have to be either extremely cracked to have gotten that rank with your braindead teammates or you're boosted.
