to me the main thing I dont get comp-wise is why put forsaken on harbour instead of kj/kayo, and then putting something on jett

trying to cook on ascent in 2024, messing with the ascent comp never ends well

  • 9 Months long season
  • 2 whole round robins before each masters
  • single elim at masters playoffs (on the fence about champs) edit: this allows for an LCQ before champs too
  • swiss + pick n choose system refined for both masters (perhaps circuit points leader gets pick priority)
  • 12 teams each masters
  • non regular season venues for majors

the only thing which I think isn't as clear cut is the single elim, but I'm sure most people would agree with the rest

posted about a year ago

imo international playoffs should be single elim, the time for double elim is in groups and the regular season playoffs, makes it more entertaining but thats just me

posted about a year ago

could be a cool thing
but the pessimist in me just says the games played are just gonna go to whichever companies bid highest so we're gonna get random mobile games nobody's heard of

posted about a year ago

imo 2022 was the most stacked, then 2023. I would put this year at 3rd then 2021 at 4th

If I were a company, I would take the money and reinvest it so I could have even more money. So I'm going to speculate that maybe someone higher up said they were spending too much money on VCT with too small of a return, forcing them to make budget cuts. Basically I'm speculating that riot don't believe in the VCT until it turns a profit, which is why they're cutting corners now

posted about a year ago

Then the issue becomes why they are putting so little of the money into VCT

posted about a year ago

idk if they're in charge of the budget/economics side of things, but if they are, yeah I guess they would be to blame

posted about a year ago

I know its a common business thing, where you start with a loss and then become profitable over time. But I want to ask the question anyway. Most of Shanghai was just played on the CN set and that most of Seoul will be played on the Pacific set makes me kinda concerned. The production quality feels lower too, walkouts and stuff seems cut back, also not to mention that they had to move EMEA to the riot building (which overlaps with LOL, as I believe it is played there). idk just looks like something fishy is going on

multiple pros do this so nah

If they maintain form I think they have a shot at playing heretics close, but that's a big if

gotta be something in the UK

FNC (UK org) had a huge year in 2023 (fully speculation, but Istanbul 2022 may have had something to do with the 2021 MVP being cNed. LA in 2023 may be related to OPTC dominating 2022/21) more reason to believe champs is in europe at least is that since franchising we have had 1 champs in AMER, and now we will have one in APAC, so just EMEA (and CN too I guess) is left

Clove is a scottish agent, they tend to theme agents around the location of events (e.g. Gekko, Yoru, Iso, Fade)

other than that I would wanna see LATAM and MENA events, maybe OCE too but we've had quite a few events in that timezone region recently

good question

posted about a year ago

in your case you probably have a lot to gain from upgrading, but as someone else mentioned all it does is raise your own ceiling, so dont expect to instantly rank up if you get a new mouse

posted about a year ago

to an extent, then you get diminishing returns

posted about a year ago

Or even better, put a map pick system in ranked, and then fix the least picked maps instead of randomly taking them out

posted about a year ago

Yep those are the best examples, but in general when sports are national you find it attracts a certain kind of crowd, think of english hooligan football culture, i think they just really want to avoid that since it doesnt really allign with what their advertisers would want. For example in 2021 we were allowed to have players walkout with flags, but riot put a stop to it

posted about a year ago

world cup would be hype but riot is too scared of scaring off advertisers and certain demographics so i doubt they would directly do it, but i do really wanna see it someday

posted about a year ago

Or is there still matches which determine NAVI's seeding assuming they win this game

posted about a year ago

EMEA is doing it, its not really as practical in other regions unless you do multiple LANs in different locations, maybe one day in the future but not any time soon I would think

posted about a year ago

subjective! I personally find them the most entertaining (yes, England can be boring at times, but you can't deny some of the stuff we manage to pull off). Hope your favourite teams have success too :)

posted about a year ago

england (somehow) get into the euro finals with a goal in the last minute
fnatic qualify for champs

hope you all have a good day too :)

posted about a year ago

for each region, mine:

EMEA: FUT
APAC: TS
AMER: KRU (bc idk if LEV are a 'dark horse')
CN: JDG (don't watch so picked randomly)

although they did kinda snake him that time he visited LA, but thats kinda personal not based on gameplay

posted about a year ago

depends on what FNS wants (he said he would only join a team where he could build the team), and I would think he wants them to stay

posted about a year ago

man C9 guess the rank back in the day, that was the stuff

posted about a year ago

I was wondering how many people actually watch the content their teams make, I really only watch the comm videos of FNC and whoever makes it deep at LANs, but nothing outside of that.

I've had the Superlight and the Viper Pros

I say either get the Superlight (1/2), or the V2 depending on your preference.
The reason I recommend not getting the V3 is because it has a very similar shape to the superlight and razer's software etc is just plain worse.

I honestly prefer the shape of the Razer V2 way more, I mainly use fingertip and claw grip, but if you have medium to smaller hands you can easily palm this too

he's played a bit of ranked (in NA) but thats it

I found the whole civil war bit boring until the end in the cave.
The rest was pretty good imo but the way they released it really killed a lot of the hype for me

  1. Glitchpop (A lot of people don't like it, but it feels easier to tap on imo)
  2. Kuronami
  3. Prime
  4. Arraxys/PRC (idk which tbh)
  5. Champs 2021 (kill sound is super nice but I dont like the look of the writing when the gun is in your hand)

I only use the red VCT buddy so that might have something to do with it too

100T > EG
(no one corrected me before so I think this is right)

posted about a year ago

there was way more hype last year and the year before, this year just feels kinda ehh, like the format has a big thing to do with it too, madrid is contention for being micheal mouse because of 8 teams, shanghai was literally mostly played in the normal venue, champs seoul will be played mostly in the pacific venue too. and idk i think the skill is less top heavy. thats just my opinion tho
