Honestly in theory doesn't sound too bad. 1 more event a year lets the game reach out to more cities, ideally promoting the game to new audiences. The only tweak I would have is to make champs every other year, 4 years is too long for an esport imo. I think it would have the effect of making people even more excited to watch it, which would raise viewership way higher as it would be a more limited event. It also makes the distinction between a Masters and Champs trophy actually significant outside of prize pool, which is a big issue imo. Alternatively you could use the extra time to attend the EWC every other year, maybe have a mid season break for the rest of the teams during it.

good on them for keeping khalil and mw, cauanzin is a very good pick too. Round that roster out with whoever else LOUD drops or some cracked t2 talent and I think they're easily playoffs bound

a combo of a lot of things

• contact heavy slow playstyle (like G2 in NA, what lots of people consider 'the most boring team in NA')
• less viewership (relative to potential viewership) since people don't really put val on the same pedestal with CS (they basically treat CS like a regular sport). More on the sport thing, a sport event is sort of accepting that there's a hooligan culture, and that's just not the kind of vibe val goes for
• that also means less potential talent goes to the tier 2 scene
• and whilst trying to keep it as apolitical as I can, eastern european countries (a massive market) are generally more conservative, which causes people to become kind of alienated from valorants marketing and branding

a fall from the top hurts way more than a fall from the middle
