fat is. if you look at how many deaths are caused directly by being fat its the 5th leading risk for deaths each year with 2.8 million dying from being overweight or obese each year and then there is so many other things like type 2 diabetes, cancers, high blood pressure, movement issues, shortening life by around an average of 5 years and much more.

fat is probably more serious considering all the problems that come with it
