If it isn't lan, they can probably just ask some ranked demons to stand in. Also, there could just run it back since they are just restricted f/a and that doesn't mean they have to leave the roster I guess

The game has its flaws, but I think people look at the game through a very biased perspective. Every game has its flaws, but people overplay Val's flaws by a lot. Like many of the criticisms are pretty unfounded. For example, when people complain about the run and gun or the shotguns in this game, they often compare it to CS. In CS, there is the xm shotgun and the entire pistol/smg meta is run and gunning, and it's not like that people don't hit running headshots in CS. The cheating problem in this game is pretty much non-existent as well (minus stream sniping but that's common everywhere). At least, we can play ranked here without any 3rd party softwares yknow. It is not the best game, but it is at the very least good imo

2v5 every game, no need for any other players

I am a big pacific believer, so I honestly think that enerii could go toe to toe with flor. Also, my point was not that their duelists are just as good as flor, but rather their gc duelists are good enough to not merit using an import on flor.

probably worried about swatting tbh

for some reason, I put forsaken on yoru nearly every map lmao

I like it, but I’m not a believer in the deadlock tbh. I would prefer:
Something- jett
Forsaken - yoru
Davai - sova
Mindfreak - omen
Jinggg - kj

I think most people think she could hold her own, but the question is if she can do well imo. Personally, I think if she got signed by a t1 team, she would be placed on a senti/initiator role because there are just so many cracked duelists right now in t1 that it wouldn’t really justify flor replacing them. Like I can’t really think of a NA team where ANY player would replace a duelist.

Then, that brings the issue of importing. While other regions could use a duelist, I actually think that their own GC duelists are just as good as flor anyway, so no need to use an import on flor. The only regions where we might see flor as a duelist is EMEA or CN imo, but even then I doubt talent scouts there are looking for NA GC talent of all talents.

However, I do think she could fry in T2.

Tldr; flor is good but not good enough to merit a T1 duelist position, due to the oversaturation of duelists in T1, yet.

Lowkry Chichoo. Imagine how tilting it is to get shit on by a guy named after a train noise. Shit would give me nightmares.

I can already imagine the comps

posted about a year ago

Ah, I wouldn’t be shocked if a GC player gets picked up at some point then.

posted about a year ago

Something they might be looking into is the trace strat, but idk if that’s actually going to happen (since I saw both jinggg and something playing sentinels). This would mean they could spec into more meta comps (or even crazier ones tbh)

posted about a year ago

I wonder, do gc teams scrim with t1 teams? I feel like the best of them should be scrimming against t1 teams. Sure, they might lose (a lot) initially, but over time they’ll get much better compared to their competition, leading to an increasingly competitive GC scene.

I mean, it's for the same reason regular sports are a thing. I doubt football was immediately profitable either but look at it now.

posted about a year ago

Btw, I just realized flipzider dropped the most insane amount of kills I've ever seen an igl drop ever (0). No wonder bro got dropped midway through the season lmao

posted about a year ago

It's icebox. The meta is solo viper.

Meta being:
viper
sova
kj
jett
gekko

SPG, Riddle Order, and Full sense are favorites to win and DSG is the dark horse.

Remember when he dropped 30 kills in a 18 round map. I think if a team properly utilizes him, he could be great (Although it was against bleed)

skrossi would be a decent sentinel tbh. Idk why they put him on gekko when he gets pretty much no assists on him (which is something you need to do when you are the main flash for the team). It's not like this is a one-off issue either; he gets like 3-4 assists per game on gekko.

I'm a bit iffy on natank, but otherwise this roster could fry

posted about a year ago

This could be an idea, but then a bunch of cis players currently in emea would be up in arms.

posted about a year ago

The VN casters pronounce it yes-i-can iirc

posted about a year ago

Our best team is a bunch of chokers (-yesican because he’s the goat but his team chokes), so these frauds fluked their way to ascension unfortunately. VN was so much better in 2023 tbh.

posted about a year ago

I would like to see that, but I need a source on that because I haven’t heard such a rumor

"The Psychology on How Regional Differences in a Sport Tends to Lead to Increased Polarization Amongst the Fans" would make a great title, and then one would use vlr as a naturalistic observation study :D

posted about a year ago

I think it is because it is ascension that it is leading to regional arguments. The region boundaries are a lot more defined and the stakes are arguably as high or even higher than a lot of T1. The emotions run much higher because this tournament could mean the beginning or the end of a career, depending on who wins.

Side note, this would lowkey make for a fire research paper.

edit: or it's just that AMER has more hate in general due to the sheer amount of people following it. EMEA was generally more chill than this, but there were less people following it I think. Since there are more people watching AMER (especially ones with clout), that leads to more arguments as people attack everything except what actually matters. Additionally, people tend to flock around general consensuses, so seeing people hate makes people want to hate, making a positive feedback loop of never ending pressed people

Obviously not, but for rookies like this, they are very much momentum based. I’d say give them a bit and they’ll cook

posted about a year ago

I mean, I can’t really blame them. They’re all rookies except for Seoldam with little to no experience. T1 teams have thrown WAAAAY worse. Also, margaret hit really clean shots at the end so it was a fair play to him tbh.

posted about a year ago

I think most people would agree that something was the super rookie in 2023.

FCY have a chronic choking problem. Starting in 2024, they've lost both of the GF they made it to. Even in the off season, they choked GF in Predator's league and then won GF for ESl (BUT THEN HAD FKING VISA ISSUES)

I actually don't know. I'm normally never around when he streams/does content. However, I do know that he's good enough to be #24 radiant in singapore servers, so he's good enough at English to talk there at the very least.

posted about a year ago

This somehow made me believe that combining sea into one region is a good idea.

posted about a year ago

I trolled. I thought they were fully leaning into slapping him on kayo every map until I looked at the maps they played and it was all kayo maps. He is still my goat tho. Deserves a T1 spot (and probably should be in ascension but Rapid Lofi fluked hard)

edit: Maybe I'm a bit too tilted from them throwing 2 gfs.

posted about a year ago

I think it's because people are reluctant to use such a selfish agent like clove. It might be similar to the reason teams didn't bandwagon on the T1 lotus comp with chamber when it was cooking.

posted about a year ago

YesIcan. He dominated the VN scene playing literally only kayo during stage 2 while igling. He got team gapped when it mattered.

posted about a year ago

I think it'll be a tough call between Riddle Order, SPG, DSG, and FS.

posted about a year ago

Our best player isn't even playing right now and he's a fking kayo one trick igl. We have negative talent in our region xD

posted about a year ago

That's because most of the regions playing right now are, unfortunately, pretty weak. Like VN, Taiwan/HK, and arguably even SA aren't that strong due to very little talent or poor talent scouting in general, so it isn't too shocking that the games right now are mid. I think the games will get much better later on in the tournament when the true best are playing.

posted about a year ago

the triple duelist comp be like. Any reason yall are running that comp or do the roles just not work?
edit: congrats btw!

Flyuh has been somewhat leaked though, since we do know about this. I assume he's talking about one that hasn't been leaked at all.

good news is that you achieved your goal! Congrats!

It's their MMR/their duo's mmr. Basically, if you're good at the video game and are better than your rank, you get to play players at a higher rank than yours based on your performance (they make up for this discrepancy by giving you more rr if you win and lower the amount of rr you lose) and vice versa. If their duo is the bad one, it takes the average of the mmrs which could end up being at a lower level than the player may be (or vice versa).

and/or terrible talent scouting. Like, how are these players not signed yet?

I made a vlr post a while back about it. Let me find it

Well, AK hasn't played on icebox recently while M80 has an 80% winrate on it rn and last map is a coin flip imo.

posted about a year ago

I checked the rating of most val countries and turkey was placed 4th on both metrics I used, which is impressive considering the fact that they have a lot of players.

posted about a year ago

Nah, they absolutely need flashes. Lotus has a lot of areas to contest, and no flashes/info meant constant dry peeking to control A and C. Breach is an interesting choice for sure though, but I understand the thought process. The main goal of the comp is stall (which is why they had viper, cypher, and sage initially) Furthermore, Jett acts as a pseudo-sentinel and omen is the default controller. However, clearly it wasn't as great as they thought, since they had no map control besides what was given. Breach has the most bang for buck utility with two flashes and a regenerable stun. I think the meta initiators didn't look so promising either. Skye has two info flashes + dog, but no refreshing utility is not great, especially since their comp is built on stalling/fighting for certain areas. Having a refreshing stun allows for constant fighting and cross map support. Gekko requires too much commitment at times to refresh his utility and he is lowkey terrible for stalling (since his shit gets blasted + if you throw util to stall, you aint ever getting it back) Fade looks promising but lacks the immediate power of flashes. I think they probably tested out kayo in scrims, but it probably didn't work out too well for whatever reason. I think it might be because kayo has basically the same util as breach, but kayo's flashes require too much prepartion? idk

I think M80's comp was actually built on this idea of stalling, forgoing the Jett for a sentinel and Viper for a true sentinel. Although I think viper would've been better for this comp, I think they didn't trust anyone that wasn't zander to play viper at a high enough level, but I digress.

But hey, what do I know? I'm not the greatest player myself and my knowledge on game theory is rudimentary at best.

Ah, mb I misremembered. I just remembered that fut had a really shit lotus comp with sage, omen, viper, and cypher.

It was fut’s comp I think

I don't think it necessarily got bad per se, but a combination of things that happened in your life changed and valorant no longer became a top priority. At some point, you stopped playing it to escape from reality because it became your reality.
