True, but with a team like EG which are entirely dependent on util usage from players like Ethan and COM, they will always have that support factor.
However, that controller player is often left alone especially an agent like astra and viper who can activate their smokes from anywhere on the map, having the potential to be good for 2 almost 3/5 times is really beneficial.
People dont realise that, sure if you have a duelist with great mechanics, that is a good thing to have. But duelists have get out of jail free cards that are their abilities. They dont need to rely on their aim that much unless its a reyna.
However, core anchor controllers like brim, astra viper etc, have really good stalling util and the anchor potential is exponentially better if you have insane mechanics.
If you can solo anchor a site and still be good for atleast 2, it literally flips the coin in an instant.

idk dude, ive always had a chamber, viper or reyna lurking halls and unless we had a cypher or chamber trip, that shit used to get abused so hard.
The changes are fucking amazing. This literally reduces the chance of snowballing so much. Shit used be a viper only map with 2 initiators 1 sentinel and duelist. And considering the viper was a pseudo sentinel, the map used to get repetetive. No scope for mid rounding, easily predictable site hits, less focus on mid rounding and defaults and entirely dependent on aim.
The changes accomodate and give oppurtunity for a wider range of comps rather than it only being a chamber, viper, jett, x, y repeat.
