in 2023 EMEA Challengers Rulebook it says that the Turkish league includes 'Turkey, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan' and in the nothing in the Turkish Challengers rulebook contradicts this. In the same glossary it also says that Vatican City is included in the Italian league in case the Pope ever wants to go pro I guess

Bro what 💀

I’m not very into Latam, but why is it only 6 teams per league and why is it split into north/south if they’re only going to get 1 slot in ascension from each rather then the 2 the other leagues get. Latam doesn’t even seem like a proper region itself because there is only 1 north/south tournament in the year and that’s to decide ascension seeding. Also the fact that promotion/relegation only allows 1 team to have a chance at getting promoted means that orgs aren’t going to invest in these ‘stagnant leagues’ and that makes players less inclined to want to play competitively. Latam could eventually become a really competitive region like we saw with LEV in 2022 (before they crashed during Americas) if Riot/Tournament organisers stopped shooting themselves in the foot

If they're going AUS I wouldn't be surprised with a joint MEL+SYD event across Melbourne Fortress and Sydney fortress which are gaint gaming cafes with stages

Since Pacific has an ‘only 1’ import rule and all of Russia is considered EMEA does that mean that if Scarz win ascension that they will have to drop one of their Russian players and pick up another pacific player or do you think it doesn’t apply to ascension winning teams

2 best EU teams haven’t played yet have hope

The league is meant to be representitive though, South Asia didn’t do very well is 2022 but it was given a franchising spot the main issue at least in OCE there’s a severe lack of stable orgs with any team usually going bankrupt in 1-2 years while KR seems to be one of the few places teams actually make money

posted 10 months ago

Yeah but there’s only 2 spots allocated for them out of the 24 teams and it’s hard to break into the qualifiers if you aren’t from China, Mongolia or ANZ

I mean riot made the esport to be very global plus for the everywhere apart from maybe EU/CIS going pro in valorant is much more accessible than CS and other FPS‘

posted 10 months ago

I think the representation in pacific is mostly good (maybe minus a KR team for VN/OCE/TW) and they should just let CN have their own thing since they planned out the whole ecosystem before they could play and CN has the population/money for its own league
