you are so right king bob let me put them in number 1 rq

Their round diff during 2023 actually wasn't that bad, they even ended up being positive during the regular season. I might've missed 2024 GE tho I'll check them

Now that all stage 2 games have been completed, here are the worst franchising teams of all time completed from my last post (https://www.vlr.gg/527952/worst-franchising-teams-of-all-time). Ranking is pretty subjective but winning games is what matters so I weighted that category higher.
games // maps // round differential

  1. 2025 FUR: 0-12 // 3-24 // -180 (I didn't include the kickoff sub game but even if I did they would still have -166 rounds)
  2. 2023 DFM: 0-11 // 2-22 // -110
  3. 2025 APKS: 0-12 // 7-24 // -104
  4. 2024 BLD: 1-11 // 8-23 // -92
  5. 2024 DFM: 2-10 // 7-21 // -104
  6. 2025 2G: 2-10 // 7-21 // -97
  7. 2025 KOI: 2-10 // 8-20 // -84
  8. 2023 MIBR: 3-8 // 7-19 // -90
  9. 2024 FUR: 3-9 // 8-19 // -89
  10. 2025 M8: 3-11 // 13-24 // -81
  11. 2023 KC: 4-10 // 9-23 // -105
  12. 2024 MIBR: 4-11 // 10-23 // -85

(HM: 2025 DFM, 2025 GE, 2024 GX, 2025 NOVA all between -80 and -70 round diff)

i only joined during the second half of the last map but that was already better than all of the na challengers games i've seen 😭

IVE BEEN MISSING OUT THIS IS PEAK

posted 1 month ago

dang I didn't think they were that bad so I didn't include them in the original but you're right. as long as they win against apeks tho they're probably safe from the top 5 list

posted 1 month ago

Furia is in the original post at the bottom
2025 Apeks: -83 round differential, 6-20 in maps, 0-10 in games

I was watching the plat chat episode and the viewer question made me wonder which franchising teams are actually the worst of all time, so I collected the map and round differential data on all the teams that are generally considered to be bad. I only took official VCT circuit matches into consideration, so EWC and other off season events don't count but Lock In, 2023 LCQs, and Kickoffs do.

Statistically worst teams of all time:

  1. 2023 DFM: -110 round differential, 2-22 in maps, 0-11 in games.
  2. 2024 BLD: -92 round differential, 8-23 in maps, 1-11 in games.
  3. 2024 DFM: -104 round differential, 8-22 in maps, 2-10 in games.
  4. 2023 MIBR: -90 round differential, 7-19 in maps, 3-8 in games.
  5. 2023 KC: -105 round differential, 9-23 in maps, 4-10 in games. (Despite having the second lowest round differential they also won more games so they're not as bad)

I didn't count any of the 2025 teams since the season is still going on but if I did, 2025 Furia would be in first with a -150 round differential, 3-20 in maps, 0-10 in games (this is over the two different rosters though and also not including their first kickoff game with 5 subs).

Oh yeah you're right I did forget about that part

Where are you getting 10 days from?

posted 2 months ago

plus playing against the best team in the world 3 weeks before a tournament is kinda perfect>

So then emea should've done better at Toronto because they were still playing stage 1 3 weeks before Toronto started?

posted 2 months ago

I meant the EWC top 4 all played in Toronto

posted 2 months ago

But the top 4 were all in Toronto, and 3/4 of them were in playoffs so by your argument shouldn’t they have all done worse?

posted 2 months ago

mfers will do anything but credit the actual team that won 😭🙏

posted 3 months ago

Yeah I 100% agree with that tbh but it’s impossible for people to be positive on vlr :/

posted 3 months ago

I’m sorry to tell you but this happens with every single popular team 😭

Is there a specific reason why you want to graduate early?

No I think top 2 does go to ascension and circuit points were used to qualify into the playoffs

I labelled them as VCT rookies because this is their first season in VCT

posted 9 months ago

I mean some of the teams have kinda tried right? global, dfm, talon, rrq all have more than one nationality and mostly make it work

posted 9 months ago

yeah thats surprising cause I feel like there were more before too but now idk lol

I was bored so I decided to research some stats on the player demographics for next year. Players not on the starting roster are not included in here. Also I have no idea what's going on in China cause most of these teams are playing with more than 5 players or have new players not in VLR (AG having 8 active players is absurd btw).

Pacific
Total: 60
Returning VCT '24 players: 32
switched VCT teams: 3 (Foxy9, Meteor, Buzz)
Returning VCT '23 players: 1 (Sylvan)
VCT Rookies: 27 (Art, Jinboong, Akame, gyen, Athan, freeing, HYUNMIN, yoman, patrickWHO, UdoTan, Kr1stal, kellyS, Papi, Kushy, CLZ, SyouTa, Xdll, Persia, Francis, maragaret, Dambi, Ivy, dos9, Famouz, Shiro, NcSlasher, BerserX)

VLR Flags: 26 Korea, 9 Indonesia, 8 Japan, 8 Phillipines, 3 Thailand, 1 Malaysia, 1 Singapore, 3 Russia, 1 Kazakhstan

China
Imports: 7 Pacific (DeLb, nephh, Autumn, stew, SWERL, Rb, Juicy); 2 EMEA (vookashu, Rarga)

Interesting facts:

  • There are 6 players that are returning to VCT after playing in the '23 season but not the '24 season: dgzin (FUR '23, Hero Base '24, LOUD '25); soulcas (TL '23, Apeks '24, KOI '25); kamyk (FNC '23, Joblife '24, TL '25); MOLSI (VIT '23, Apeks '24, Apeks '25); Avova (TH '23, Apeks '24, Apeks '25); and Sylvan (GenG '23, TOP Esports '24, T1 '25).
  • In the three original leagues, the number of imports from Americas and EMEA are tied at 6 with Pacific at 0. However if you include the CN region, then there are 8 imports from EMEA, 7 imports from Pacific, and 6 imports from Americas total.
  • 75% of CN teams have a player import. EDG, Trace, and Tyloo are currently the only three CN teams without one. (funny how it's two of the top CN teams and one of the bottom ones)
  • Continuing on the topic of imports, EMEA contains the most Americas imports, Pacific contains the most EMEA imports, and CN contains the most Pacific imports.
  • Almost 91% (29/32) of returning Pacific VCT '24 players are staying on the same team. This is the highest percentage out of these three regions with Americas following at around 75% (32/43) and EMEA trailing at around 58% (22/38). However, Pacific is also the region with the most number of rookies at 27 (even if BOOM hadn't replaced Bleed and they kept all 5 of their players, Pacific would still have the most).
  • 4 rookies have previously attended international events (not counting Ascension or GC): mitch with C9 at Champs 2021, adverso with LEV at Masters Copenhagen and Champs 2022, and BerserX and Famouz with BOOM at Champs 2022.

On second thought I agree with forsaken bc I didn’t realize he was still playing the harbor cypher in earlier matches. I want to keep rb tho because without him drx would surely have gotten grouped

LMAO

posted about 2 years ago

Ok yeah idk what I was thinking for crashies, but for zmjjkk I was basing it off of the teams run. Without him edg would have ended in groups. Same with rb and drx

posted about 2 years ago

The problem I had with them was putting the players under one category since most of them play at least 2 different roles. I guess I could base it off of their specific agents tho
