You don't know that. Foxy9's individual play is just as likely to win them the round too.
Blaming Foxy9 as soon as GenG falls behind a bit is NOT it. FNC are good at this map, playing more orthodox would be even more dangerous, no?
if he stayed on site there and traded t3xture GENG wins that round
As long as Alfa is online, Haven is Fnatic's playground. Many teams copies and used the Iso/Yoru and played well, but they have by far the best understanding of it. And Kajaak is just as good as he was in EMEA it seems.
Bro even Karon messed up with the smoke. They all have their own issues.
Kayo is hardly the most easy util in the game lmao. Still we'll see. Their Lotus was pretty good but he also played Tejo there... Wonder what he's gonna play.
His Kayo was not good. Seems a bit of a Tejo merchant now, ngl
Ascent is attack sided in Pacific. Lets see how they do it in the second half
I don't know about OAT record, but it'll probably break the record (and hold it) for this entire event.
Yoru is still good, but obviously they don't have the set Tejo strats anymore. G2 hasn't shown any new stuff with Yoru yet.
They probably think Yoru > Jett. And they play no duelist on Icebox, if I recall correctly.
I think everyone was expecting Rarga to be good but YOU being dropped tempered that, somewhat.
Jemkin, on the other hand, is hyped A LOT. By myself as well. We are cooked if he booms too.
Thank you, I am really more hyped about a tournament with a football star as their ambassador now, more than I am looking forward to watching the best teams of Stage 1 in each region.
I mean, G2 socmed account is kinda known for its banters. That will attract a lot of negative reaction from "sensitive" Twitter users. Also, leaf is leaning into his "SEN is free win" bit and coping a bit about their performance against PRX. Not surprised their comment section was flooded.
Only GenG has played Deadlock yet. Pro teams are still sleeping on this agent.
And I'm excluding TL from consideration because they were just spitballing with their comps.
You are explaning all of this to someone who asked if EDG reported someone to the police because they beat EDG.
PRX had aim too but on Lotus they actually played really well as a team IMO. That's why although it got close (since G2 is actually good on this map and didn't have to rely on someone having an insane performance or PRX choking), PRX still won. I bet G2 will VOD review this and change their stuff on defense side a lot.
I dont think using stingers is hero play. G2 have actual starts around this and they are pretty good at it. But you cant win a map if your rifle rounds aren't mostly converted, no?
I did add "hero plays and stingers".
Now, I have not checked back but I am pretty sure they lost most of the rifle rounds on Lotus, especially on defense.
Well, my hero round comment was for Lotus specifically.
PRX won Split despite double pistol win by G2. G2 also lost the macro game pretty badly on Lotus. If anything, G2 held on with hero plays and stingers.
They ran deafult comps with no drilled set strats. They might as well have been bolder and played into their situation. I mean, TL did and it kinda paid off.
I am sure it has nothing to do with your support of Heretics.
They did beat SEN on both Lotus and Sunset last time they played against each other.
My comment is based on a Reddit comment, so take it with a pinch of salt. But the Chinese commentors were saying it looked rather offensive so maybe that's why the org pushed him out?
Otherweise, the cheating scandal was known already, as was YOU's involvement. It's also kinda his fault for still associating with a guy who is openly toxic and got him involved in the cheating scandal.
Because he also apparently made shitty remarks about China and women in general, from what I remember reading.
Going by their comps... XLG would have still run this boring ass comps. None of the first seed have actually took their time to cook something new so far.
SEN aren't so bad to not at least look up what their opponents are playing; surely they prepared for it or at least have a general idea on how to play against it.
S1mon's job would be primary support for Rarga.. Kinda need perfect comms there.
You can hire coaches to give opinions or ask for a review of VODs etc. That's what mini is doing anyways. He said that Alecks is sometimes asking him for the VOD reviews of their scrim losses etc. And he's probably giving some token ideas here and there. Comps etc. are all Alecks, as far as I know
They had to change EVERYTHING because Tejo was very integral for all of their protocols. Even with the prep time they had, it's tough.
In short: No Tejo no win
I was told G2 wouldn't have a problem with the Tejo nerfs because they had all the time in the world to prepare? That PRX looked like a team that "wants" to lose, so G2 can't lose?
Give me a break. G2 is obviously a great team and still played well individually but their prep looks like shit. Basic Split comp but not even showing enough cooking, not being able to handle PRX despite VODS being available? Giving so much space to PRX on Lotus? Come on.
I doubt this is the end of G2 being having to change ALL OF YOUR COMPS on all maps, thus having to adapt into a new approach on all maps is hard even with all that prep time. They played Tejo on all maps before, it's madness to pretend it wouldn't hit them hard. Trent is playing Sova pretty well still, but G2 can't rely on Tejo for many of their protocols, individual performance of Trent doesn't matter as much.
Where the first set of tracks was placed.
People forget regionals as soon as internationals start. A bit of a shame this time IMO, because This year's Stage 1 had some amazing games across all regions.
TL Valorant is not that rich of an organization, apparently. mini implied in a Platchat episode that they are basically a budget team that overperformed their expectations.
They can destroy a team yet their team can still lose, technically. Though both of them have successfully defeated the teams you mentioned in the brackets.
Rarga's KDA against EDG was 56/31/11 (in a Bo3). Jemkin went 89/64/14 against GenG (in a Bo5), the closest one to him in the server was Monyet with 68/59/31.
Though these are just stats. XLG played well to set up Rarga, RRQ did that too but Jemkin sets himself up for big plays a lot as well. I am really excited for their international games here, especially Jemkin's.
They are good on Pearl but a lot of times it either goes to overtime or they lose on it, if I remember correctly. Though it really depends on which map G2 trusts more: Sunset or Pearl. No doubt they cooked stuff up for Sunset, it'll be interesting.
You have to submit the starting five players before the game day.
Imagine a scenario in which TL submits Penny instead of Serial, the opponent gets the first map pick and chooses one of your double sentinel of sentinel+Viper maps. It's a gamble.
If that is the criteria, you might as well say Fnatic was a dynasty in 2023 (since they were also in the top 4 at Champs '23).
Is Lotus confirmed as the map rotating out?
Geez. Abyss, Icebox and the new map all in for Champs. We are only missing Breeze.
This ain't the Wolves team that was getting rolled over in VCT CN to be honest. It isn't even the team that beat BLG to qualify to Toronto. They are playing miles better.
To be fair, I am not saying XLG would struggle here, just that Wolves would probably be more familiar with their strats and plan accordingly, hence my best possible matchup opinion.
