What are people's opinion on Riot using a similar play-in format for Champions as Worlds?

Play-ins would include regions like SA, OCE, and MENA, as well as lower seeds from major regions

I feel like this would be a good way to give these minor regions a chance to play in Champions, without giving them a direct slot for free (because a lot of them still need time to develop)

New Orgs:Warriors
Trialing:Lunatic-Hai, Spear, Tubeple
Rumored:Talon, Ghibli, Pubg Orgs, OWL Orgs, LCK Orgs (maybe Hanwha or DRX?)

DK are having a roster overhaul and some OW players are starting to transition over to Valorant

Robbery?

Reykjavik: Both of your teams got sent to the quarterfinals immediately

Berlin: VK got arguably the easiest group and still couldn’t qualify

Champions: VK used and exploit and, if anything, got lucky they even got a second chance. VKS and VK than both got 2-0’d by SEA teams whilst another BR team lost to KRU for like the 3rd time this year.

You guys have had plenty of slots and easy seeding yet haven’t achieved anything substantial

Maybe in 2022 you guys can achieve something, but for now, BR hasn’t proved that they should be considered a top region

We’ll be able to scale SEA, LATAM, and KR tomorrow

Overrated as in not living up to top 3 expectations? Yes.

But people that are acting like they are a terrible team that can’t rival EMEA or NA are just wrong

They 2-0’d ACE
Took a map off of Berlin Gambit
And lost close games to FNC and C9

Unless KRU beats Fnatic or X10 beats Gambit, they are still probably the #1 non-EMEA/NA team

The one that actually pays their writers. Also, is it just me, or does thespike.gg run slow as hell

Maybe, since wasn't the VCT revealed at the end of First Strike?

We got so much potential as a region, but just no playerbase :(

At least Damwon Gaming should be close to rivalring VS next year; however, since they are rumoured to build off of a core of t3xture, iNTRO, and Esperanza

1) Brazil is too high, they have a lot of potential, but despite getting more slots and the easiest brackets (Berlin and Champions), they have not achieved anything substantial yet to place them above NA

2) NA may be down bad this event, but they are still probably the 2nd best region at the moment. SEA is really good though and definitely the 3rd best region

3) Most controversial take, but I will still say that KR and LATAM should be ranked together right now, with both being one team regions. We have no idea how good / bad VS are compared to KRU until the KRU vs Fnatic game on Thursday and there's honestly a good chance C9 are NA's best team, with Fnatic also looking better than Gambit and ACE rn imo

Japan is going to dominate that game

Will it pay off? Probably not, but they look primed for an upset imo

Cheering for C9 and Fnatic + SEA teams for playoffs

posted about 3 years ago

Yep, just like Paper Rex did in Berlin and Full Sense did in Champions

posted about 3 years ago

It’s true that SEA teams do often shit on Korean teams, but I still think VS win, they just seem to have a good read on the region along with more LAN experience

We desperately need more events like the APAC LCQ

Hopefully in 2022 we can look forward to Asian LANS

100% agree, as a region, SEA is stronger than KR

It’s similar to how BR as a region is better than LATAM, but KRU > VK, VKS, FUR

S: EU
A: NA
B: LATAM, KR, SEA
C: BR
D: JP

Hard for me to rank LATAM and SEA until playoffs so that we can scale groups

C9 and Fnatic look more impressive to me than ACE and Envy

posted about 3 years ago

I don’t wanna take anything away from SEA fans, but it’s just a fact that Team Secret definitely had an easier group than VS

Not having to beat a major region to qualify and having CR in your group 100% makes things easier

ACE fans like to forget that happened

KR and LATAM

Including Reykjavik, it’d have to be BR though

Next year they’ll actually have competition in Asia as well

JP and SEA are stacked with teams and DK won’t make it easy on them

It’s always a 13-11

VS dug their own grave though during map selection, choosing to not start defense against C9 on ascent is just stupid

At least VS got back into the flow, really weird to pick attack first against C9’s ascent though
