all they needed was a timeout with my boy solo
he's a half russian half japanese who hates KR/CN lmao
see, i don't understand when people say this. the downside of franchising is not the first few years but the later ones. i can see why people wouldn't be interested later on, but the first year will be hype as hell seeing a new format and entirely new superteams along with more international events. if anything, you should watch next year because it will be interesting as hell.
i swear half these users weren't chinese before
What if Vision Strikers didn't get immediately seeded into Gambit?
What if Crazy Raccoon had won in OT on Icebox against Gambit in the decider match?
What if Korea actually had a lower bracket in the 2021 VCT so TNL would stop getting matched up against VS?
i think they'll either get their own league or get added into an expansion. if not, then KR/JP/CN should all get 2
if 3 KR/JP teams make it each, the league will most likely have 12 teams. The other 6 slots will go to SEA/SA/OCE, that seems fair to me
secret should just put Jremy on the main roster to be honest
that's why i don't blame them, i would've done the same
it wasn't even you lol: https://www.vlr.gg/126986/what-are-slots-for-apac/#28
i don't blame them for moving in the early stage, since fielding a successful NA roster is worth a lot more than a successful KR one. but they spent way to much time messing around in NA when things didn't workout, Gen.G was a T3 before they disbanded
Yeah, I didn't mean for it to sound so harsh like it's their fault that our players wanted to get paid lol, it's our own orgs fault for not investing
Add in players like Sylvan, SSun, and k1ng + all the KR players in Japan and an org like Gen.G has so much to work with
I saw a comment that said KR didn't have much talent based off the LCQ performance so far so I had to check and I realized how little talent is currently in our own region. Japan has imported what I would consider to be around half off our 'tier 1' players, which is why the region is so weak at the moment. Our 3rd and 4th best teams could also be on the same level as DRX/DK on paper, but we are stuck with teams like Maru since these players all left for paychecks (not that I'm saying it's not the right move for them, but it's unfortunate for our scene):
Astell (CR)
Seoldam (CR - Content)
HSK (DGW)
Suggest (DGW)
iNTRO (RC)
Medusa (RC)
JoXJo (NTH)
Meteor (NTH)
Foxy9 (RIG)
eKo (RIG - Loan)
Lakia (IGZ - Loan)
Not to mention xeta, Munchkin, and Saya all moving to NA to compete. Honestly, it's good for the players to receive support but just really sad to see for our region :(
I saw a lot of SEA fans getting pissed that KR might even get 2 slots, but you have to remember that most of these teams won't look the same. We have the talent to have more then one successful team but the players are just too spread out right now, that's why franchising will genuinely benefit our scene.
I’m betting on China getting their own league
We’ll get more super teams since Gen.G are coming back and KR/JP tend to do well against SEA when they play, so I think they’ll be fine in this league
Any chance SQ move back to OCE?
Not to mention orgs like RNG, LGD, and Invictus who have shown interest in the past
I really hope Damwon win this, I don’t know what to expect from CR
Most of the KR talent isn’t in the LCQ lol. majority of the good KR players aside from DRX/DK’s rosters play in JP or NA
Bro, Zeta and NTH are both better than XIA, which is APAC’s 2nd best team. Why should APAC get 5 and JP get 2? They also have much higher viewership.
If performance is the reason KR only deserves 1 slot, shouldn’t APAC be given the same treatment?
As well, 1 CN team has played and we already think they deserve 3 slots? I don’t get it.
If it’s 3 JP and 3 KR, I’m confident that the league will be 12 slots and APAC (SA+SEA+OCE) will get the other 6
His original list, which was majority his opinion, also had Griffin and Fancy United making it and people took it like it was 100% confirmed
You realize that if KR/JP get 3 slots, that means the league will probably have 12 in total. Most likely 5 for SEA+SA, don’t spread what you’re saying like it’s set in stone. We don’t even know if OCE will get a slot either.
bro at least let DK play a map
if SEN doesn't qualify, they should have BBL face SEN in that match
NA/JP
Xeta, Sayaplayer, Astell, Suggest, HSK, 10X, iNTRO, Medusa, JoXJo, Meteor, Foxy9, eKo
KR (-DRX/DK players)
Sylvan, HANN, TS, Bazzi, Wix???
honestly not even a hot take, Gen.G has so much to work with if they buyout some players from Japanese rosters
KR gets extra hate just like BR, the difference is that BR actually has people to defend it while KR has like 5 users
bro i actually believed in NAVI but G2 just had to mess everything up like normal...now I'm stuck with 3/4
I’m surprised Goddead is still on this roster tbh
should’ve picked up Foxy with eKo, Foxy could’ve actually won some aim duels like eKo
my guess
ONS won’t make franchising, that’s why he’s only on loan
FunPlus Phoenix
Royal Never Give Up
EDward Gaming
LGD Gaming
Vici Gaming
Invictus Gaming
I’m not sure which one is the biggest, but EDG are wealthy af
they have no structure, just peak one by one
i had to read it twice to even find out what they were calling sexist
this isn't the same ONS though, they lost the #1 sentinel player and #2 smokes player in KR
they lost debatably their two best players and were doing awful in scrims, the only Korean team I expect something from is Damwon to be honest :/
Just wait for them to give us a group with PRX, DRX, Zeta, and EDG
yeah, they're just feeding zmjjkk. i want to see him play a team like DRX or Zeta who won't give him those opportunities
this roster is dead anyway, unless Gen.G use them as a core for franchising. losing zunba and k1ng made them go from T1 to T2. hopefully Bazzi gets a franchise opportunity
Damwon also has Canyon! They have my support!
1st Map Bans
EDG almost always bans Haven while ONS often ban Split. EDG are very good on Split but they don't often pick it into their opponents, so this'll only hurt them a little bit when it is most likely banned.
Map Picks
EDG's best map is Ascent and they are currently undefeated on it while ONS's go to map tends to be Bind. ONS don't have an awful Ascent, but EDG should take it if it makes it into the map pool. I wouldn't be overly surprised to see Icebox get picked first though by EDG.
The remainder of the maps are up to anyone to be honest, but EDG has a slightly more rounded map pool then ONS, so I'd favor them in this matchup.
TLDR:
Split = EDG Favored
Bind = ONS Favored
Ascent = EDG Favored
Icebox = EDG Favored
Haven = ONS Favored
Fracture = 50/50
Breeze = 50/50
Based on the map pool, I'd say it should be an EDG 2-1. Can't wait for none of this to happen because ONS just had a roster change though :|
