it seems that younger player can perform pretty well even if it's their first LAN. alfa, suygetsu, trexx, cryo, zekken, aspas in copeyhagey. aspas in reykjavic too. so, i believe brave would be up to the task. and also russian players are a different beasts.

in double elim group:
team who wins first 2 matches against 2 different opponents get to playoffs. this proves they are better than half of the teams in their groups.
team who loses first 2 matches against 2 different opponents doesn't go to playoffs. this proves they are worse than half of the teams in their groups.
the remaining 2 teams duel to see who's better. winner goes to playoffs.
in swiss system:
team who wins 2 matches first against 2 different opponents get to playoffs. this also proves they are better than half of the teams in their groups.
team who loses 2 matches first against 2 different opponents doesn't go to playoffs. this also proves they are worse than half of the teams in their groups.
between the remaining 2 teams, the team that has beaten the other go to playoffs due H2H rule.

DDK's proposition doesn't make sense to me. the last games for the 1st and 4th best team in the groups will not be mandatory at all. and then the groups would have 6 matches instead of 5; total 4 extra matches in 4 groups. that would cost rito extra money, too. am i missing something here?

america maybe? biggest scene after jp and the crowd might be more fun.

no, it's 1-10 in map wins and 0-4 in series wins. winning 16 maps in 4 series isn't possible.

I'M NOT READING THAT. tldr?

i'm not trying to devalue kru's champions run. it's one of the greatest underdog runs in VCT. and i do think kru is a great team. but unfortunately, they haven't been able to replicate that run again.

DRX are a very good team when you temper your expectations. but they fail deliver when we set them some lofty goals. but otherwise, i don't think consistently getting top6 in the world is a bad achievement. they're a good fight for NA and EMEA. and they've made it to 3 playoffs in 4 LAN appearances, and they never had an easy group except reykjavic.
and you're massively overrating kru over 1 tournament they did good at.

I might jump under the train if DRX shits the bed again. maybe? PauseChamp

the only teams that are in a spot to surprise right now are boom or furia. so, i would say boom can maybe get an upset against loud.

i would expect so. they did last year and they will definitely do it next year. so, it only makes sense.

the ZETA pick is HOPIUM, DRX will disappoint as always, and not sure about XER vs KRU.

hey, still top 4 in EMEA. so, for sure some org from the 10 or so that will get a franchising spot will pick them up. hopefully they stay as a team which would have been easier if they qualified for champs. but i'm sure that all 4 core players will find a new team.

went from 27/13 to 4/14 on ascent against 100T. i don't know what they were thinking.

this match doesn't matter as much as the grand final. because, only the winner of the grand final can go to champions. the only difference between 3rd and 8th place is prize money. so, lower finals being bo5 doesn't make sense.

i think the best op-er on m3c is redgar. he plays support roles not suitable for op but whenever he picks up the 2nd op for the team, he always clutches.

it was an honest mistake. he didn't mean to.

bro, this roster is beyond saving. everyone including rawkus should retire except tenz, dapr and zellsis.

posted about a year ago

they're not that great. they looked better than stage 2 but that's a very low bar. and the only reason this match was even close is because 100T couldn't help but throw 4-5 rounds lead on match point.

i think, it will be an org that doesn't have a team yet but wants to confirm a franchising spot. my bet is on heroic. and i think, if heroic picks up M3C and M3C wins LCQ, the team will stay get into the franchise league.

wdym? their 6 teams still left in LCQ. and all of them have a chance to go to champs.

posted about a year ago

no, the game is too volatile. we'll have 10-12 buffs or nerfs, a new map and no split. the game is going to change drastically once again and the team that can adapt to it the fastest will win.

you're misremembering, king. it was 3 months ago. and leviatan had a player name vaiZ in stead of shyy back then. for comparison between the players: vaiZ was the 7th WORST player in latam stage 1, shyy was the 6th BEST player in latam stage 2. and the team also improved massively since stage 1.

posted about a year ago

come on, king. your best team that didn't even drop a map in brazil lost to latam's 2nd seed.
