No, not yet. There's no direct way for me to access backend or API of this website which are necessary for the forums section.
I am still trying to find a hacky but safe way around it, if and when I do, you'll see a forums integration in the app.

🎊Thank you all for the support, the app is now live on play store here🎊

For previous users of the app: You will have to uninstall the app if you have downloaded it from github and then install from the above link of play store.

For everyone

  • Please consider sharing the app since right now the app does not show up when you search for anything related to vlr, more downloads will help app get a better ranking in play store search.
  • If you like the app consider giving it ratings, reviews or sponsor it.
  • App is still in its early stages so your feedback is always welcome.
  • We have already setup a discussion and feedback group over Telegram for the app. Please join here and share your thoughts.
  • This link to the group will also be available in the app's about section.

Got an update from the dev team.
They are okay with me releasing the app on play store as long as long as I clearly mention that it's an unofficial app.

So over this coming week, I'll be preparing for the app's play store release.
I'll post an update here once that happens.

Thank you all for support ❣️

No TestFlight, if you wish to try the application you can just download it from the "Releases" section of the page / link shared in the main post.

I've sent a message over discord as well.
Hopefully it gets addressed soon.

Thank you so much for the support, I really appreciate that.

It's not available over Play Store YET.

Just a bit of clarity, that post was a question to their dev and legal team, because I don't want to violate any rules or policies by publishing the app over Play Store.
Hence I created the post so i could get some feedback or comments from the team.

I have reached out to them over email, twitter and in forums over the span of last month or so but it has all been unanswered. (I didn't go spamming, I've reached out to them over every medium once.)

Maybe someone who's in their discord can bring this to their attention? That's probably my last hope.

For me personally it's not about the language, it's more about tools and resouces that are at my disposal and unfortunately I don't own a macbook, and for smooth development of iOS apps you need a macbook.

Yeah, as of now the app changes theme based on your phone's overall theme.
So if you phone / device is in dark mode, the app will be in dark mode else it'll be in light mode.

It is possible to add a toggle to control the theme inside app itself, but it's low on my priority list right now, I want to improve few other things first before I get to that.

I have never created or worked on an iOS application so answer from me would be "No, not in the near future at least."

Pickems? Forum? Or am I missing something else?

The app is in it's early stages, it was designed first for Android 12 and above users, I'll work on theming for other android versions in next few releases.
Once that happens you'll get a proper dark and light theme.

Thanks for the feedback.

You can find the apk from "Releases" section on the right side if you are opening the link on PC.
Else you can just click here and download APK from release marked as "Latest"

EDIT
The app is now live on play store... Check this post for more info

I have prepared an open source android application for VLR.gg website
Since there aren't any publicly available APIs, we have setup a backend which scraps data and caches it from the website and sends it to the application based on the request.

You can find the application and it's details here.

I can assure you a few things around the future of the app.

  • The application will remain free and open source through out its development
  • The application will not contain any ads

For devs and legal team Please let me know if there are any changes which are required due to legal reasons (icons, credits) or if releasing it over play store will breach any policy of the website.

For people interested in this application I would like to get a confirmation of the above before I release it to the play store. Right now the only way to download it is through the above GitHub link.

Side note for devs We would love if team could make the APIs public, community has some great ideas.
