Any Brazilians want to explain what happened?

I would expect Vikings to go on a lower bracket charge, but this is a massive hit to them so early.

I agree. If I am watching a co-steam it’s nice to be able to hear the commentary IMO.

Unless I am watching like sgares, cause he’s great at commentating, and has a really good mind for the game that I’m basically getting the game commentated and learning tips at the same time. Plus he’s really passionate about the game which is always a big plus.

It would not surprise me if they are using the best server available like Amazon’s or Microsoft’s like they do for the rest of the world. It’s not like these are Riots personal servers they have setup and are using, very few if any major developers do this.

Sadly, the issue could be completely be out of Riot’s hands while they wait for a fix from their server supplier. Or a routing issue, which again is out of their hands. Sadly, it’s the internet. It happens.

posted about 2 years ago

Riot doesn’t make the servers. They hire companies like Amazon and Microsoft who have the best servers in the world. This goes for the majority of games. For all we know, the issue might be completely out of Riot’s hands.

posted about 2 years ago

Agreed. No use rushing things. For all we know the problem could be out of Riot’s control and with an Amazon or Microsoft server that they use for the game. Wait until this is for sure fixed as best of possible and not just crossing your fingers hoping for the best.

Come on Navi, go on a lower run.

posted about 2 years ago

Poor Navi, Liquid, Acend and Giants are their first three matches. That’s a gauntlet.

posted about 2 years ago

What a match. Same with the Acend vs Navi match. Hope Navi can go on a lower bracket run.

posted about 2 years ago

You seem angry. Relax.

LOL imagine thinking a map can’t be attacker or defensive sided with a current meta. Stats don’t lie dude.

Because they were streaming hours before EUs games started. It’s really not hard to find the channel. There’s like 5 different channels are streaming the game depending on language.

Yeah, now that Asuna turned 18. He’s an adult and thus, too old for games.

Interested what we see from Gambit.

The one player said someone about they they lost their points for the match or something. Could be translation error, I’m also not aware of the SEA format all to well. The TO’s aren’t Riot staff but people hired by the organizers. At least the punishment was quick. Though I personally just wish they could have replayed the rounds the cam was used. Aw well, it is what it is.

Edit: The one interesting thing. It’s a group stage. So if Riot truly wants to if they don’t agree with the TO’s penalty. Riot could just say, both teams will replay the rounds the camera was used. There really isn’t a strong time limit, as its not like your knocking out a team from contention right now.

posted about 2 years ago

I’m aware you can’t see it, but can you still not shoot it through the wood? I guess TO’s did look at it according to tweets. Will be interesting how it plays out.

posted about 2 years ago

Big problem with the Giants cam was it couldn’t be shot through the wood. And that they used it in at least 6 rounds. If Riot fixed the not being able to shoot it part, they might not longer see the place as a bug anymore.

If the bug was listed in the known bugs list they get before the match. That’s where the issue will happen now.

My point was they would already be out for Berlin if it wasn’t for him.

posted about 2 years ago

They are one of the biggest scenes for Valorant while the game is trying to grow. They absolutely should get 2 slots. Though I do agree Turkey should get their own as well. It’s the first year for VCT and a lot of decisions had to be made like a year ago. It would not surprise me in the least if next year we have 24 team masters that start off with a group stage to get down to 16 teams like a lot of esports. I would be very surprised if next year we continue 16 teams.

Are we forgetting that L1NK was probably the reason Liquid is even here in the first place with his plays against Fnatic on Breeze? Liquid doesn’t make that comeback without L1NK consistently getting behind the Fnatic team.

SEN, 100T, and Envy are some good representation for NA in Berlin. So I hope Envy pulls it off. XSet wouldn’t be bad. I just think Envy with some extra time to implement Yay into the roster outside of “Bang go frag” strategies is a stronger team.

But seeing Zekken and Dephh on LAN is a nice consolation price.

posted about 2 years ago

That’s good to hear, hope his recovery continues to go well.

posted about 2 years ago

I think Acend wins it, but I’ll be cheering the new team on until Navi either make it or are out of Berlin.

Same with the TR teams and Gambit, would be good for the representation of the game in Berlin. Nothing against the other teams, just cheering for the unexpected.

posted about 2 years ago

Has there been any update to how he’s doing? Outside of when it was announced he was stepping down until at least LCQ for the injury, haven’t heard anything. Hope he’s doing well.

From what ShahZam said on stream, he joked around about maybe bringing out the Brimstone and putting Zombs on Jett to Op.

Personally I think it’s kind of stupid to not treat these games serious. As I much rather go against the 2nd seed of like Japan first than have to go against a team like Acend or something, you get what I mean.

Now I don’t expect SEN to actually go against 100T tomorrow with Zombs on the Jett Oping. But it doesn’t sound like they are taking the match as serious as IMO they should.

The seeding in Iceland was a huge factor, it literally caused teams to have to play an extra match because of the 10 team double elimination format. Now obviously because we have 16 teams now, a double elimination format is perfect and won’t result in teams having to play another match, but I still think it’s important.

That doesn’t even take into consideration the extra $25K USD difference between 1st and 3rd. While it isn’t huge bucks, it’s something worth playing for.

Yes

Even as a Marved supporter, I would pick Dephh over him IMO. Dude just lead the server for the series in ACS, Damage Per Round, and FK/FD on a Astra.

posted about 2 years ago

Will be happy with either team. Currently cheering for Envy, but seeing XSet on LAN with Zekken would be cool too.

posted about 2 years ago

I want to see how he does on this Sage. Battle Sage might suit him better than an ultra aggressive Jett trying to make space.

posted about 2 years ago

Happy for Navi. New team, want them to get some success early to build off of. It's a big ask, but having the Navi org at Berlin would be pretty huge.

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah. His talent is top tier. He is one of the most aggressive players I have seen. And he makes it work more often than not which is entertaining. But he does get caught out at the beginning of rounds occasionally because of that aggression. If he can temper that aggression a bit where he doesn't get caught out as often. He has the talent to be seen alongside the truly greats of the game so far.

A snowball fight should be how teams decide sides like a knife round in CSGO.

Or at 90 minutes of a game in OT (Like the record GenG vs TSM game, instead remaking the room, we play a snow ball fight for the winner.

Yes I am just joking around if it isn’t obvious.

posted about 2 years ago

Hey, Steel played really well today. But yeah, Asuna is a monster.

posted about 2 years ago

Same, I’d love to see TSM at LAN. But Envy in my opinion is the best of the rest right now, or at least what we saw

Either team will be fun to see though, so I hope one of them get the 3rd spot.

posted about 2 years ago

Doesn’t get much attention, but I agree he is a monster.

posted about 2 years ago

This is a tough match for me, as I like both teams and I want Navi to do well and help grow the CIS region.

My heart wants Navi, my brain says Liquid.

posted about 2 years ago

Yay is crazy good. If 100T wins this match against XSet, Envy is my guess for the 3rd team going to Berlin.

Let’s go!!!

It’s entertaining, I’ll give it that lol.

I think Hiko gets underserved hate the majority of the time. But if Sinatraa can come back the same as he was, I think you’re 100% correct it could turn that team into a powerhouse. As long as there is no personality clash or something behind the scenes of course. But from a pure talent standpoint, that line up has the potential to shake what we think of the world standings. Especially as it seems 100T is in a solid place right now with it not just being Asuna and friends. But everyone doing what’s needed.

posted about 2 years ago

Oh cool, good to know. Your guys work here is really appreciated.

posted about 2 years ago

They also just don’t play Accent often. I stopped looking at the Fnatic - SEN Grand Final. And the only two times they played the map was just now, and XSET Grand final which was a BO5

So it’s also just not a fresh map they play often. Though it definitely looks weaker than I’d like to see as a SEN fan. So I’d hope it’s something they look to work on if they make Berlin.

posted about 2 years ago

Sadly it happens to any region. If NA or EU shows up to Berlin then fails immediately, there will be tons of haters. Obviously if TR wins, there will be far less haters. But they won't disappear entirely they never will sadly. Don't let the haters get to you, let them waste their time if it happens.

posted about 2 years ago

Would be great to see. Even as an NA homer, the more regions outside of NA and EU to find success. The healthier the scene will be. TR, CIS, JP, LATAM, BR, KR, India in time, are all scenes I want to see do well. If a team that isn't NA or EU wins it all. That is huge for the scene. Honestly, as long as one region doesn't just dominate everything, I will be happy.

I can understand waiting till VCT season 2 to update the rating system. Once we know what next years schedule is, they can do a more accurate job programming the system, like adding a decay and when the decay should start taking place.

To be fair to VLR, they clearly say its in Beta and understand there's work to be done on it. Once they add a points decay on it so events like First Strike are no longer part of it, I actually think their current system could work well. With the way VCT works, a top team isn't going to go on massive losing streaks of like 5+ matches, so a team isn't going to just fall down the rankings drastically. Which is why after a winning streak, TSM can shoot all the way to 2nd, as their points from First Strike and stuff are still there.

posted about 2 years ago

Both teams can look great one day and then struggle the next. I have 100T taking it, but I have no clue what to expect from Faze anymore. They looked straight trash against Rise the first time, but since then have genuinely looked better each match since (maybe not against TSM, but TSM is feeling it.) 100T had a really good run until they ran into XSet and SEN.

I am slightly bias as I think it would be cool to see 100T in Berlin. But I also genuinely feel more often than not 100T wins. If Asuna gets help 100T wins handiy. If it’s Asuna carrying or is having an off day for some reason, Faze can take this.

2-1 100T

posted about 2 years ago

I think the biggest issue is there isn't a rating decay (as far as I know), where wins from over a year ago are still factored into their current rating. And you aren't gonna fall down the rating far if you get a win here, a loss there. So once you go on a streak of wins, you shoot up the standings. I am no programmer, I have no clue how you would program a fair decay system, I believe HLTV has one but I have no clue how it works.

Just as everyone predicted.

I’m happy for the TSM fans as up until now it’s been a rough year. They have some diehard fans that stuck by them, and seeing a team and fanbase rewarded for sticking it out during the hard times is nice to see.

posted about 2 years ago

Acend, G2, FPX and Gambit are my guesses. Which I would be ok with, but if we could have teams from EU, CIS and TR all qualify for Berlin I’d be very happy. As more region representation the better. Though it would not surprise me if it’s 4 EU teams.
