Feel free to support & read on my new Medium page if interested! :) https://medium.com/@KyotoVAL/suggest-hsk-to-potentially-return-to-korea-from-detonation-gaming-8809486eebc2
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to sources, Seo “Suggest” Jae-young and Kim "HSK" Hae-seong may potentially depart the active roster of DetonatioN Gaming White and possibly return to the Korean scene following their VCT Stage 1: Japan elimination in the open qualifiers to IGZIST and Reignite respectively.

Suggest saw a move from being secondary flex player from his longtime tenure on NUTURN Gaming to primarily playing Jett, while also taking up some other roles. Meanwhile, HSK, former IGL of longtime South Korean CS:GO powerhouse, MVP:PK, joined DetonatioN in December of 2021 following the end of his mandatory military service in Korea.

Suggest achieved a peak ACS of 430 during the Open Qualifiers, with HSK DetonatioN Gaming not straying too far behind in terms of impact in-game. Even in matches that they lost, the Korean pair typically could be seen topping off the scoreboard in average ACS.

In early March, DetonatioN Gaming put out a tweet stating that the organization is recruiting new players to fill in the Duelist & Sentinel/Flex role, and later stating as of March 28th that any role can be recruited, citing meta changes as a result of this.

Initial speculation within the Japanese scene pointed to Suggest departing the team, however the organization has since stated that at this time, there are no plans for HSK or Suggest to leave the team despite their roles being put on the first recruitment post.

Despite this statement, sources can confirm an interest by Suggest in wanting to return to Korea, with HSK’s future on the team being unknown. Yet, with all this in mind, as of now no organizations have been rumored to express interest in bringing back the two from the Japanese scene, however.

This story is still developing, so whether or not both players decide to stick with the team is up for discussion between all players involved. It is likely a final choice will be made in the offseason between Masters: Reykjavik and Stage 2 open qualifiers.

Two players have already left the team in recent days; and more are likely to follow.

If the two choose to depart DetonatioN Gaming White, the organization will be left with:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FiveK has announced on YouTube following months of speculation that F4Q will return to the VALORANT Champions Tour as of March 28th.

Initial speculation came about with the addition of the F4Q branding to Korean amateur player, guNkorea, in January before the start of the 2022 VCT season. The player was questioned by pros such as DRX’s stax, giving a comment about the matter on stream when seeing F4Q in his name. After 2 months of teasing and comment by FiveK regarding questioning on whether F4Q would return to VCT 2022, he has finally made an official statement on social media about when to expect the return of the team.

Following their loss to NUTURN Gaming in the Asia-Pacific: Last Chance qualifier in a 2–1 set, the roster announced on Twitter that the players would go their separate ways; primarily contributed by having no sponsor to support the team alongside members looking towards new opportunities.

FiveK has not given up yet, however, on competing as F4Q. After failing to break a deal with American organization Solaris back in Masters: Berlin for a sponsorship, he has supposedly found a new sponsor, willing to support the team’s efforts in the Korean scene.

As per sources, two of the players looking to join F4Q’s new roster are amateur players Bangnan of Team T5 and Hermes of HolyMolly.

Bangnan was a former player of Lunatic-hai VALORANT and GOMA; an organization of up and coming amateur talent, while Hermes was a talent playing on amateur teams who was initially set to join On Sla2ers after outperforming players such as Chibab in trials, before ultimately setting on Bazzi as their duelist player.

guNkorea is another rumored player for F4Q, as per sources. First playing in the National ShotVal Pride tournament of November 2021, he found himself placing 2nd only to TNL Esports, in addition to playing as a 6th man for Desperado in VCT Korea: Challengers 1 in the 2022 open qualifier.

As of now, there is no plans for original players Bunny or Efina to return to the team, with both choosing to stick towards streaming for the foreseeable future.

FiveK’s plans for F4Q is to not only compete at the top level of Korean VALORANT, but also open up new talent to the scene, and potentially have organizations look into the team or individuals.

On Friday, April 1st, FiveK will confirm the members of the team. F4Q will compete in Stage 2 VCT: Korea Open Qualifiers, in the hope to make it to another international event.

If no roster changes have been made to the current members to this point, F4Q will look like, as of now:

  • fiveK [IGL]
  • Bangnan
  • Hermes
  • guNkorea [Estrella]
  • ?

DRX feel like a big state of limbo right now,
they look stagnant to last year, while the role swaps are good its just that zest’s fragging is not very good, even if the players have said they prefer his igling to stax

plus the rise of breach internationally, while stax still holds off on playing him ln maps where hes seen a global rise in presence (split, ascent) granted, drx probably know what theyre doing but considering he’s coming back into the meta somewhat its something to note especially with his status as “the world’s best breach”
in addition, it just feels extremely hard to make changes to drx as a whole: buzz and mako are both extremely solid, stax is the poster of drx, which leaves rb and zest yet rb is still regarded as the best in korea, just tending to choke on the stages, and zest is their igl
if drx doesnt succeed here, theyre put into a choice where they keep going and try to sustain while the scene catches up or break the years of synergy between k1ng, stax, rb, and zest

top 4 at most if they play to their fullest, yet considering their luck with groups they might just go out in groups but time to hope, midrounding and readibility is their biggest weakness as of now :)

the players literally said that zest’s igling was better and deeper than stax’s

title, has anyone dropped a 50 kills in a official?

posted about 2 years ago

no, went like this:
bren qualified for m3
bren got told they cant go
contracts expired around the same time too
lack of resources in bren as an org lead to them wanting to explore new options before re-signing to bren
team secret approached them, they signed to ts

posted about 2 years ago

i thought that too but apparently whoever wins latam vs br decides either:

  • the region thats seeded higher
    or:
  • whether latam will be seeded above latam v. br (in which case, br is placed higher if they win)
posted about 2 years ago

yep, made a post on the possibilities if this turns out to be true

caster said from na finals after guard won this:
"guard...win over optic...they will get to skip groups" doesnt this imply theres a group stage? https://youtu.be/wEQXxVVm8OM?t=18106

posted about 2 years ago

no, its the 1st place from the top 4 regions as per champs
because of this: fpx (emea), kru/lev/nip/loud (latam), guard (na), paper rex (apac)

posted about 2 years ago

its already confirmed, guard, fpx, prx, and kru/lev/loud will most likely skip groups

posted about 2 years ago

drx will somehow manage to get g2, fnatic, and optic all at once knowing their luck then play fpx in playoffs

posted about 2 years ago

fixed to better represent br vs latam, does it seem more accurate?

oh, i see

“seeds from North America, EMEA, APAC, and the top seed from the winner of the LATAM and Brazil playoff will get seeded deeper in the bracket” on the val esports page of the format

posted about 2 years ago

top seed of latam vs br was confirmed to have the higher seed for whatever reason

posted about 2 years ago

Broadcast just mentioned how Guard will be skipping groups due to winning Optic, with that and other info in mind, here’s a guess on who will be seeded where:

Top Seeds/Seeded into Playoffs

  • The Guard [NA]
  • G2/Team Liquid [EMEA]
  • Paper Rex [APAC]
  • KRU/LOUD [SA]

This leaves us with 8 teams who will be placed into groups.
The format mentioned by Riot is a double-elim group stage leading into playoffs. These teams fighting in the groups are:

  • G2 Esports/Team Liquid [EMEA/EU]
  • Fnatic [EMEA/EU]
  • OpTic [NA]
  • KRU/LOUD [SA]
  • LEV/NIP [SA]
  • DRX [KR]
  • ZETA DIVISION [JP]
  • XERXIA [APAC]

With this in mind, the Group Stage as of VLR puts 4 teams into elimination. This means there will be 2 groups of 4 teams.

Possible seeding might be: (based off regional Champions results)

  • G2/TL, FNC/DRX, OPTC, KRU/LOUD (Higher)
  • XIA, DRX/FNC, LEV/NIP/LOUD, ZETA (Lower)

Or: if all #1 teams are seeded higher:

  • G2/TL, DRX, ZETA, KRU/LOUD (Higher)
  • FNC, OPTC, XIA, LEV/NIP (Lower)
Meaning that groups could look like this, although anything is possible assuming that the seeding goes as above:

Possibility A
Group A

  • FNATIC/DRX
  • KRU/LEV/NIP/LOUD
  • OPTC/G2
  • XIA
    Group B
  • G2/TL/OPTC
  • ZETA
  • DRX/FNC
  • KRU/LEV/NIP/LOUD

Possibility B
Group A

  • FNC
  • ZETA
  • OPTC
  • KRU/LEV/LOUD/NIP

Group B

  • G2
  • DRX
  • KRU/LEV/LOUD/NIP
  • XIA
Something else to mention, EMEA talent were saying that FNC and OPTC were confirmed to face eachother in Groups(?)

Bottom 2 in each group are eliminated

Who do you have qualifying out of groups and making it through playoffs? :)

Playoffs might look like:

  • G2/TL vs. Group B #2

  • KRU/NIP/LEV/LOUD vs. Group A #1

  • GRD vs. Group A #2

  • PRX vs. Group B #1

genuine question on sen because i dont want to make a new thread, but why does no one support actual changes to the roster if they keep failing to live up?
i get that they do need a new coach to bring back some of that form, but what if it still doesnt work out? is the roster still gonna stay as their core 5?

not sure if thats really the case, from what i know theyre working with zeta div. academy and will probably sign some of their players if theyre promising
