Furia are VERY good on lotus. VERY good. And they're pretty decent/good on ascent. But they kinda suck on every map (does everyone remember that one statistic lol with their stats on lotus vs every other map. It was night and day).

so there's 3 sub-regions; NA, LATAM, Brazil - each region sends 2 teams (2g if they make playoffs stage 2, they'll get demoted if they don't make stage 2 playoffs)
So that's 6 (maybe 7) teams in ascension, whoever wins will ascend (yes, it's only one team, because of the fact that G2 has kept their spot by qualifying for champs - so only 1 spot open).

Okay tbf babybay is not going to be the play in any way, leaf is obviously better lol on senti. Honestly impressed they did so good. Yes, NA sends two teams to ascension, so that'll be winner of Challengers League Stage 3, plus whoever has the most challengers points (placements from earlier - standings are available) - so probably ENVY and another team LOL.
The other regions will also send representatives in a similar format, then ascension has a group stage to decide the teams for playoffs, playoffs winner (it's double elimination) ascends into tier 1. Note that 2G could be playing in ascension if they make playoffs/champs but don't place higher than G2 (let's face it, G2 is beating 2G at champs).

2) it's not the age, it's how much time derke has been playing valorant at a pro level, it really wears someone's brain down and makes them slower, especially for a duelist who is supposed to entry and have quick reactions (like he's supposed to be opping, he needs quick reflexes unlike boo). Kaajak is just faster than derke and he's still 20. By the time he's 22, I think he'll be much slower than he is rn.

yeah, i feel bad for g2 since they definitely have been the best team overall this season (they won their region both times, then got 2nd/4th in internationals - only 3 teams even qualified for both internationals, and the other 2 did worse than g2 in both), their consistency is just unmatched
but most of that was tejo farming, so idk - I do think tejo will be buffed again (because they nerfed him into the ground), but not quite to the same level.
