woke up and saw this, how even from 11-4 to 11-13.
did they pick up choking habits from PRX 😭😭

Left with FNC revenge match and I hope we get to see it.
PRX needs to fight FNC (#1 Seed)

✅G2 (#1 Seed)
✅SEN (#2 Seed)
✅TH (#2 Seed)
✅TL (#3 Seed)

posted 1 month ago

non-apac watchers only know that RRQ beats GenG & PRX so they have high expectations.
but they dk that PRX actually rolled them on 2 maps (13-2 & 13-3 scores), and only lost 2 OT (12-14 & 12-14) to RRQ thanks to hero jemkin rounds.
so knowing only the first part, people were naturally disappointed since they did get rolled as a 1st seed.

posted 1 month ago

sen, g2, fnc, geng — all have chances against prx, vice versa.
wolves im not too sure, but juicy, suifat, and spring looking good so far

I fell asleep yesterday watching map 1 of G2 v XLG, woke up and saw the result of XLG & RRQ being smoked, glad I slept.
but today will probably stay up to catch sen vs prx match at 3am

posted 1 month ago

a bunch of chinese people/orgs must be making bags by exploiting this XLG situation
lose the battle win the war aaahh

yes…everyone already know about the advantages/disadvantages of being 1st seeds blah blah

but a true aura team would sweep their opponents even if they went in cold
so let’s just a hold higher expectations of teams from now on.
they are 1st seeds, they are meant to perform.

posted 1 month ago

yea I understand, I discussed that teams might not be that motivated to try just to get that first-pick. but I mean the coaches were complaining about being “cold” and not having the momentum etc, so how much they want to reveal during this 1st seeds round-robin would be entirely up to them, since at least this on paper allows them to be “warmed” up, so no more excuses.

can’t just complain about being cold, and also don’t want to reveal anything.
anyways its just an idea

posted 1 month ago

just realised the numbers of 3k GenG had over 3 maps against FNC.
18 out of 69 rounds with 3k. So thats 26% (one-quarter) which is damn high no?
meanwhile FNC only had 8/69 rounds (11%).

maybe just bo1 and they might make from viewerships and sponsors? but i guess the don’t count part is more for the players who likely won’t find it rewarding to try since it will expose their strats/maps

posted 1 month ago

I can understand the cold argument, but I still think 1st seeds knowing their maps/strats of the swiss teams while the swiss teams having no clue is a rather strong advantage. And also if you think in the way that if the picks didn’t go exactly in this manner, the results could’ve been very different so its really in some way cope imo.

posted 1 month ago

I mean not in swiss, just a separate 1st seeds against 1st seeds to determine first-pick

posted 1 month ago

somewhat true since since they might not even fully try, maybe give points for it? idk

posted 1 month ago

Let the 1st Seeds play against each other each in a round-robin to decide who pick first so they won’t be “cold” and will no longer have any excuses.

posted 1 month ago

bro just lock in on fnc geng now, banger match ongoing

posted 1 month ago

wtf match is so good fnc geng

posted 1 month ago

I mean prx smoked RRQ in 2 maps like 13-2 & 13-3 score line, and lost 2 maps in overtime 12-14 to RRQ due to some jemkin hero rounds… and ended up losing the bo5. so I’d say the gap is pretty much non-existent and RRQ was never some insanely strong team that is unbeatable, just mostly cause of jemkin hype since he really did performed well previously

with that said im still cheering for RRQ tho cause of monyet

But G2 had the huge advantage of watching/knowing about 6 out of 7 map pool of PRX, and they still lost.
PRX had no info.

didn’t watch ragna, but jemkin did smoke prx and geng, you can look at his past 2 matches.
his first major internationals tho so we really dk how well he will perform, hopefully he adapt fast to the global stage

remember, they have time to watch how SEN played against both chinese teams, info advantage could be huge here and its not wrong if in their perspective — sen is the easier pick

posted 1 month ago

who tf would want to watch regional matchups again… and wolves ain’t that free for them, the rounds were close when they played. and maybe they think sen is the easier pick too?

posted 1 month ago

wouldn’t really say underestimated, just unknown right now. isn’t this jemkin first internationals? we dk how well he will perform yet like the nerves etc

posted 1 month ago

like fnc coach said, if you are going to be the best team you gonna beat everyone either way so it doesn’t matter. don’t need to have victim mentality, just be grateful we are gettin good matchups and be excited about it

and its not even single-elimination so why worry if they really have it in them

posted 1 month ago

banger first map, and the most stressful third map ever because wtf

same

posted 1 month ago

actually true, guy’s a class act through and through
but o7, I believe prx will pull through

killing creativity, let them play what they want. they have their own plays they made.

prx will be fine, not the first time they experienced such loss, they have good mental now

and somehow im not even worried for prx even after that map loss

bro I understood ur point and analogy perfectly in the first place, but its still a bad one and a strained false equivalence. you talk about people diminishing his achievement (maybe thats true to some extent), but did you perhaps not consider a more objective standpoint that maybe its becuz people like you are over-glorifying it? yes, he won the event and had the best rating, well deserved. but it does not objectively change the fact that a large pool of good players were not given the opportunity to perform yet since regions/orgs were just starting. once again, this shit was 2021 so its a pointless convo. and bro was not ahead of his time.

and if people are debating about it, maybe stop thinking that people are dumb for not having the same viewpoint as you,
and perhaps the achievement is really not as great as you think it is (not speaking negatively/diminishing it, just a general pov and statement).
just as comparison think about Faker from LoL, his goat status and achievements are recognized by everyone in the community, and less-ly debated by people.

posted 2 months ago

and im trying to say that its a bad analogy if you don’t understand my nuance

posted 2 months ago

“literally one of the dumbest arguments”, proceeds to compare tenz with issac newton 😭😭
I think the main argument is that there are players better him, but were just not given the opportunity to compete yet since most of the regions or organizations were just starting out etc, hence the plumbers narrative.

anyways who even cares about 2021?
you’ll probably only see this argument from others against tenz’s glazers who keep bringing up past records, or else no one would even care

posted 2 months ago

tbf T1 had said both before and after winning Bangkok that in their opinion, competing in APAC was harder than at internationals. ig it could be due to differences in playstyles, the familiarity APAC teams have with one another from frequent matchups, or simply because they genuinely believe APAC is tougher and more competitive

posted 2 months ago

SEA has nothing against KR teams vice versa tbh, just your classic non-sea/non-kr people fueling and instigating

I mean logically his accusations goes way back to last year so if he thinks the koreans teams are scrim sharing he would have avoided scrimming them or to at least hide strategies while scrimming them.
So he basicially lost fair and square to geng and drx, and should just take accountability for it instead of deflecting and creating this mess?

posted 2 months ago

I just hate that this whole situation would allow coaches to deflect responsibility for losing by blaming everything on scrim leaks. Fcking take accountability for losing and stop half-assing the evidences, just air it all out properly if they really want make accusations
