why does emea have a 6 team playoff bracket and NA has 8, when there are more EMEA teams going to iceland than NA teams?

Doesnt make sense to me

every time thescore esports has made a vid on a val player theyve underperformed in the short term or fallen off in the long term, as a player or a team

a few example:

Tenz: sen bomb out of groups @ champs, 8/18 split game
Asuna: 100T 0-4 in groups (asuna is fine tho)
nats & gambit: Gambit fall short at champs
Boaster: fnatic fail to qualify for masters 3 berlin
FNS: underperformed vs V1
sayaplayer: underperformed vs C9 (not sure ab this one tho)

a few notable exceptions

cned
vanity
yay

I dont mean to throw shade at any players or suggest theres any causation, I just noticed it and thought it was funny

edit: apparently the nats vid was more ab gambit as a whole so I editted

gambit announced that their CSGO roster will be competing under a neutral name so they can play in ESLPL 15.
Whats stopping them from doing this with valorant? they arent listed on the schedule for week 5

IMPORTANT NOTE: Since the teams for Group B have not been solidified yet, I am going based off of speculation and who is more likely to win each match (and given how NA Valorant is, anything can happen). This also goes off of the format of top seed versus bottom seed, with no inter-group matches in the quarterfinals.

The seeding for each group would be

Group A:
1: C9 (no bias here lol)
2: The Guard
3: XSET
4: LG

Group B:
1: V1
2: SEN
3: OpTiC
4: Rise

QF1:
C9 vs Rise
QF2:
Guard vs OpTic
QF3:
XSET vs SEN
QF4:
V1 v LG

Its entirely possible that the matches are randomly drawn from set pools or some other drafting method, this is all just speculation. Also it is confirmed the playoff bracket is double elim

Cloud9 vs Luminosity (Cloud9 2-0)

The third match of the weekend brought an already qualified Cloud9 against a Luminosity that had won their last 2 matches against Evil Geniuses and a new look 100T.

The series started on Haven, Luminosity's pick, and also a map that Cloud9 have been doing some experimentation on, opting to put their resident Sova player, Xeta, onto Breach. Cloud9 proceeded to pick Luminosity apart, going up 11-1 in the first half, and eventually closing out the map 13-3. Haven saw LG's new star players, mada and bdog, have a very rough time against the opposition, going 0/9 on FK/FD.

Map two took us to Bind, which proved to be much more competitive. The half began with LG winning the pistol and building an early 3-1 lead, until Cloud9 snatched the momentum back to their side and won 4 straight, building a 5-3 lead going into the end of the half. Each team put 2 more rounds on the board, leading to a 7-5 half score in favor of Cloud9. In the second half, LG took control on their defense. They would win 7 of the next 10 rounds, forcing map point at 12-10 to go to icebox. However, Cloud9 held steady and pushed the series into OT. After going down 12-13, Luminosity answered with a flawless round to push another OT, where Cloud9 answered with their own flawless, pushing series point at 14-13, and closing it out on their attacking round, winning the series 2-0.

The series MVP went to leaf, who earned 44 kills over both maps, and 296 ACS. Cloud9 move to 4-0 in their group and will play their final group match against The Guard next week to determine the top seed of Group A. Luminosity's playoff hopes require 100T to lose to XSET tomorrow.

NRG vs Knights (Knights 2-1)

Saturday's second match found an 0-3 NRG battling a Knights squad that had just beaten Rise last week. The series went the distance, going to all three maps.

Map one started on Breeze, and saw Knights build an early lead, going up 6-1 on their defensive half. However, NRG answered back with 5 consecutive rounds of their own, tying the half at 6-6. However, in the second half, Knights began to take off as they won 7 rounds in a row to close out the map 13-6, with their flex player XXiF going 24/9/12 on KAY/O, and an astonishing 233 ADR.

Map two saw NRG answer back with a strong victory on Bind, which was Knights map pick. NRG's defender half started with them going up 5-0, before Knights built up some steam, winning 5 of the next 7 rounds, bringing the half to 7-5 in NRG's favor. After Knights won the pistol round to tie the map, NRG pulled ahead, winning 6 of the next 7 rounds to force map three, with a score of 13-8.

The final map of the series saw a very similar setup to the previous two. Knights built an early lead after losing the pistol to go up 5-2, until NRG found their footing and were once again able to force a 7-5 half in favor of Knights. Once again, Knights had a shut-out defender half, and won 6 straight to close out the map, and the series, 13-5.

The series MVP was XXiF, who earned 55 kills and 263 ACS, and was followed closely behind by ban with 261 ACS. With this loss, NRG are out of contention for the playoff bracket as they fall to 0-4. Knights will be able to qualify if they are able to beat OpTic next week, or if Rise lose to NRG.

I noticed on VLR there hasn't been any notable writeups about the NA VCT Challenger groups since they started, so I figured I'd take matters into my own hands

Week 4 of VCT saw playoffs solidified for Group A and the battle for top 4 continue to wage on in Group B. Six matches were played over the weekend, with the final week of competition approaching and the playoff bracket for Masters on the horizon.

Rise vs Sentinels (Sentinels 2-1)

The VCT weekend opened with Haven, with both teams duking it out in the first half leading to a 7-5 scoreline in favor of Rise going into Sentinel's attack half, where Sentinels were able to find their footing and win 4 commanding rounds in a row, pulling ahead to 9-7, needing 4 more rounds to close out the map. However, after Rise called a timeout, the team found their footing and won 6 rounds in a row to end the first map at 13-9.

Map 2 saw Sentinels put an absolute clinic on Fracture, a map they have been playing very well on. Sen were up 9-3 at the half, and after winning the second pistol round, were up 11-3. However, Rise kept themselves in the map with crucial openers by Shanks, as well as a 4K spectre clutch by Poised. Alas, the comeback fell short on the final round of regulation as Sentinels forced map 3 after a tight 13-11 win.

The final map of the series, Bind, saw Rise pull ahead to an early 4-0 start, but Sentinels found their stride, winning 7 of the next 8 rounds, resulting in a 7-5 halftime score in favor of Sentinels. After Rise won the second half pistol and a tight bonus round, Rise once again gained the lead at 8-7, but Sentinels again shut down Rise's momentum, winning the next 6 rounds to close out the series 13-8.

Despite the loss, the series MVP goes to Derrek with 254 ACS and earning 59 kills across all 3 maps. Sentinels are now qualified for the playoff bracket, and Rise are on the brink of elimination. Interestingly, this is the third series where Sentinels won the series after losing the first map.

Evil Geniuses vs The Guard (Guard 2-0)

The second match of the day proved to be a bit of a beatdown, with a already-qualified Guard battering an 0-3 Evil Geniuses.

The first map took us to Haven, Where EG had a strong start after losing the pistol, winning four consecutive rounds to build a 4-2 lead. However, Guard would win the next 5 rounds, before EG were able to stop the bleeding at the end up of the half, leading to a 7-5 halftime score in favor of Guard. After Guard won the second half pistol, EG began to string rounds together to once again make the map competitive, largely off the back of Boostio who was getting EG into a lot of their bombsites. However, at the 8-9 scoreline, Guard began to pull ahead, winning 4 of the next 5 rounds to close Map 1 out 13-9.

Map 2 took us to icebox, where EG started on attack, and again found themselves down 5-7 at the half, with Guard showing a strong retake game on defense, with 5 of their 7 round wins coming from bomb defusals. However, EG began to show their own strength going into their defender half, winning 6 rounds in a row, and building an 11-7 lead. With Guard two rounds away from a map three, the squad once again began to string together rounds, winning 6 straight rounds on their end to close out the map 13-11 in favor of Guard, with a heartbreaking loss for EG. The comeback can be attributed to the stand-out performance of Sayaplayer, who earned 28 kills on icebox, and 50 across the entire series.

Guard now move to 4-0 and will face the also undefeated Cloud9 next week in a fight for the top seed of Group A. EG are eliminated from playoff contention with this loss, and will play their final match versus 100T next week.

Recently I saw you tweeted a copypasta about C9 trolling in scrims, and came to know that you stole it from the temple of copypastas vlr.gg. How could you post a copypasta without even crediting the vlr user. We spend hours a day making one copypasta and out of 100, one works out. And you blatantly stole that without even crediting us.Very disrespectful. No longer supporting this copypasta stealer. Will move on to someone who respects our hard work and credits us
