given all the reports and kanpeki being listed on battlefy I think its real

posted about 2 years ago

I read somewhere that C9, GUARD, OPTIC, and XSET were all seeded into groups and are not playing the open bracket.
Does anyone have confirmation on this? I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case but I haven't seen it from a credible source besides none of those teams being listed on battlfy

All of these analyze the players, not the org, and where they were 1 year ago. Only Top 8 teams listed
Any players that were not in the scene 1 year ago are listed from when they first started playing pro
asterisk or italicitization indicates the player was on a Tier 1 team at some point in their career (T1 being defined as Top 8 VLR at some point in the last 12 months)

Soniqs:
runi: playing with ZMMB, entered scene July 2021
shonk: played with illuzion, COT, ZMMB, entered scene May 2021
dizzy, crunchy, iyen: all still with org, but were benched at some point or another on soniqs

Faze:
dicey: F/A, prev with 100T
Babybay: still with org
Poised: played with Rise
POACH: played with BBG
*supamen: played with dignitas, joined Rise in july 2021

TSM
*seven: played with Teal Seam, subbed for 100T, currently inactive for T1
Rossy: prev immortals, signed to TSM in Jan 2022
corey: prev Faze, signed to TSM in Jan 2022
Subroza: still with TSM
*gmd: prev GENG, now trialing with TSM

TSM Acad
Harmful: played for ookers and squirtle squad
*b0i: prev andbox, 100T, filled for BBG
payen: previously ghost, noble
venture: prev cosmic divide, rifle crutchers, good fellas, radiance, signed to TSM.A today
ZK: prev noble

Clanless:
kehmicals: prev immortals. oogabooga, reformed
c4lypso: prev Rise, benchwarmers, reformed
critical: prev BBG, KCP, reformed
HUYNH: prev GHOST
pho: prev BBG, EG

ghost:
johnqt: prev EZ5,
koalanoob: prev dignitas
*aproto: prev LG
nismo: still with org
brawk: prev pugstars, OTW, complexity

100T:
will: prev BBG
asuna: still with 100T
derrek: prev Rise
bang: prev OTW, TSM
stellar: prev LG, KCP, Soar

*knights: (knights currently ranked 7th on VLR)
skuba: prev KCP
genghsta: prev IMT
xxif: still with org
ban: filled for LG, prev squirtle squad
frosty: prev team basilisk, brimstone gaming, zealous

*indicates the player was on a T1 at some point in their career (T1 being defined as Top 8 VLR at some point in the last 12 months)
**Seven was signed to 100T who were in the top 8 rankings in the last year, but Seven never played a match with 100T.

Please let me know if I made any mistakes or add any input you had. It was particularly hard to figure out who was actually Tier one and who wasn't while being as objective as possible.

Andbox, now NYFU, recently dropped their entire roster except for Oderus. Given the orgs history I figured id do a writeup on all the changes theyve gone through, their highs, lows, etc.

Founding roster:

android
yay
seb
POACH
b0i

since then:

Poach benched, later joins BBG
Rebo fills poach's spot
android is bought out by NRG
Rebo is benched
vice and mada join to fill android and rebo's spots*
b0i leaves org
jcstani takes b0i's place
seb leaves org
jcstani leaves org
yay is bought out by NV**
alexsander joins org
mummay joins org
oderus joins org
alexsander leaves org
mada becomes restricted F/A, later joins LG
lear and jonaaa6 join org
lear and jonaaa6 depart org
vice and mummay both moved to inactive

at the time of writing oderus is the only remaining player on andbox

the roster has gone 12 players, 14 if you include vice and mummay
of these 14,

5 have gone on to play at a higher ranked team (jcstani, b0i, yay, android, mada)
1 has not played on a different team since (seb)
2 have gone on to play at VCT lans (yay and b0i)***

please feel free to mention any mistakes or further details you want added. I lost a lot of my respect for andbox/NYFU after the whole harmful situation, and its a shame that so many talented players like alexsander, rebo, and jcstani never got to meet their full potential. However, this org proved as a stepping stone for other players like mada, yay, and android, who are all now thriving in the T1 scene.

this is the roster that beat sentinels in Stage 2
yay was the last member of the original roster to leave the org
b0i played a match on the LCQ "lan." You could debate this and you probably wouldnt be wrong

FPX should get the prize pool and circuit points of an 8th place finish because in theory thats the absolute lowest they could place (assuming its a bracket with play-ins like iceland last year)

additional background regarding the controversey itself: Around a month ago JasonR had a strong case built against him for actively avoiding girls when playing ranked, such as dodging and faking a game crash upon hearing a girl in agent lock, or leaving a 10man to soloq ranked because a girl joined. He also didn't provide any reasoning on why at the time and kind of let everything happen.

Tarik specifically said back when the controversey began that he didn't agree with Jason's decisions and that is was weird, but never publically criticized Jason's decisions beyond the term "weird." Tarik also hardly talked about the controversey after.
