and then someone who actually tries would come up with a great map

posted 9 months ago

true, but I feel like it depends on the people around him. Like navi 2021 ( the best navi with s1mple) learned to just ignore the emotion side and focus on the advice

posted 9 months ago

s1mple has had several moments on stream, off stream where he was ''toxic'' to his team, didn't make him less skilled

posted 9 months ago

all i know is that most of CIS scene started at 10v10 publics at cs 1.6 on dust 2 where the most skilled players would gather and stick together to form the strongest teams. and that's the case even for the younger pros. W0nderful (navi's sniper and the most recent major winner) has been banned in his home city, Odessa, for being too good and winning all competitions. kyosuke, a.k.a CEMEN_BAKIN, who is the next big thing, has revealed recently that he started playing CS at Prison Break and that he only moved to 5v5 cuz he was kicked from Simon Says due to not having a microphone. Electronic has been a KZ top 5 ladder before starting 5v5, there are plenty of examples like this all around the CIS scene

posted 9 months ago

True, perhaps that's what prevents Sayf from being a winner? And I wonder if by the same logic you would consider s1mple a good player?

posted 9 months ago

and I wondered why no one has ever made a raze movement map like TF2 has made for Demoman and soldier......

hard not to show emotions when your dreams and goals are fucked over by something which shouldn't happen

I mean cs is in a worse shape than GO was, but it's getting better. hitreg improved, optimization (for me) improved, game feeling improved, server quality improved, I play on faceit where there is already an anti cheat so I have everything. IF they give more content and add an anti cheat alongside patrol mode, then CS2 will clear GO for me. as for val, I feel like riot have some sort of vision, but they are way too controlling, there is no way for community to project their thoughts and make them real.
I feel like valve just allows the community to control a lot of things, maps can spawn and be added to the game if the community likes them. but the community will play dust/mirage 24/7 and cry about having vertigo in the pool, like motherfucker, just play some Thera or Mills, these are new maps

posted 9 months ago

like it's funny to me how CS frogs talk about how ''chad'' cs community is but then none of them ever remember the true chads who are map makers/skin makers and people who run competitions. There are hubs on faceit dedicated to people who test and make new maps (most notable hub being mapcore, which has given the route for Anubis to enter the map pool and become one of the most popular maps).

honesty =/ toxic. Like if your teammate just doesn't do the right thing and it costs you the round / the game/ the tournament, then you need to address it. It's a team game, correct, but team consists of elements and if one of the elements doesn't work as it should then it should be improved upon

posted 9 months ago

I wonder if valo has some sort of a workshop like CS does? Where the community can actually make maps?

posted 9 months ago

sentinels and their management is not the problem, the entire org system is. Salaries are too big, too many content creators, paying for LA is a lot

posted 9 months ago

riot fucked kazakhstan by banning ru leagues, that was like a bridge for kazakhs to play tier 1

posted 9 months ago

There are only a handful of orgs who are breaking even/in the green. Just off the top of my head, navi, kc, vitality, spirit, g2, liquid

posted 9 months ago

''A few days after the end of Champions, Sentinels revealed its financial results for 2023. According to the figures disclosed by the organization, the club's revenue grew by 20% compared to 2022, reaching $2.92M. This amount allowed for a gross margin before expenses of $2.672M, also a significant increase of nearly 40%. According to this report, early 2023 also marked the internalization of the club’s merchandising services, enabling them to quickly capitalize on the success of their VCT team. Indeed, Riot Games announced that Sentinels was the club that sold the most VCT capsules in the Americas region and the second worldwide.'' Pretty sure they do

posted 9 months ago

Sadly that's the same probable for Kazakh players in CS as well. Faceit did introduce Kazakh servers recently, but then they need to get 3 other servers and those are Sweden Finland and Moscow, so there the ping is huge

posted 9 months ago

VP pretty much are the same team owned by the same company just with a fictional holder of the team. Like they ARE NOT worth 1.5 million

posted 9 months ago

if you add relegation 60% of the orgs in franchising will seriously think about staying in valorant

posted 9 months ago

but then it is not franchising and that goes against ''stability''

posted 9 months ago

naaah, VP were owned by Esforce holding which went to SOGAZ (insurance company by a russian state)

posted 9 months ago

VP - still dodgy, linked and partially invested by Winline (gamba)
Spirit - linked to Betboom, focused on improving CS/DOTA system
optic - focused on CoD no?
faze - mb
nip - maybe
col - owner publically said t2 val is unviable
ence - focused on getting as much of an income as possible, a tier 2 system with a 1 year contract is a no-go

posted 9 months ago

liquidated, they are owned by MTS who are sanctioned

posted 9 months ago

''if'' doesn't make sense here cuz you would need to change how the sport is played for a WR to have bigger impact than QBs. He is not the best, but even the best WR or any RB wouldn't be the most impactful just cuz of how the rules are played. they can't do anything on their own without the ball, and the ball is given by the QB and the QB relies on the OL who need to protect the QB. if any of the previous steps go into the shitter, then the impact is 0

posted 9 months ago

well in Ukraine it's just Football, then Boxing (whenever Usyk fights), and then CS is higher than tennis or other sports where there are Ukrainian athletes. Navi were mentioned in the Ukrainian Language book, were congratulated and are being congratulated any time they win an event by the Ukrainian Government, and there are hefty plans from navi on making Kyiv an esports town

posted 9 months ago

a WR will never have a bigger impact on the game than a duelist in valorant.

posted 9 months ago

cuz the impact of an NFL player to the result of the team is considerably smaller than that of a valo player. (unless it's QB)

posted 9 months ago

is it the same in Denmark as in Ukraine that CS is pretty much the 2nd sport only behind football?

posted 9 months ago

7SSK7 IS STILL PLAYING????

posted 9 months ago

And that is why Thailand's best << Korea's best
Experience isn't as important as some people think, but characters and how they stack is important. If you have 5 easily tilted players who are crazy good, you either win 13-4 13-3 or lose 2-13 1-13. If you have 5 passive players then in a tough situation noone will step up to the plate. If you have 5 active players then every round ends in 20 seconds. You need to maintain some sort of balance

posted 9 months ago

CS is taught in schools in Denmark as an extracurricular sport, that pretty much answers your question

posted 9 months ago

When you meant less profitable, you mean to riot or the orgs/players? How will riot lose more money in an open circuit if they don't need to pay for Franchising slots and they won't need to organize every event?

posted 9 months ago

If tier 1 isn't profitable then why won't riot make it an open circuit with dozens of TOs?

posted 9 months ago

Never compare yourself to others, there are plenty of examples for both sides. People talk about donks, woots and monesys, but then there are people like jL who went from thinking about dropping cs and working as a delivery driver to a major mvp in 2 years

Reason 456 why international English speaking teams last longer than regional ones (in terms of success). It's over, racists, national teams are almost no more

I don't eat lunchables. I don't eat lunchly. I prefer real snacks, like apples or berries

posted 9 months ago

Gambit cuz I fucked with the narrative of CIS winning the 3 (at the time) relevant esports scenes in the region. Sadly Acend winning champs prevented it as navi won the CS major and spirit won The International. Since then I kinda forgot about valo for a few years before joining now for champs and I would probably say I have no favourites

Zywoo generally feels like a smart bloke tbf
-refused to jump the gun on joining a tier 1 team cuz he wanted to end his studies
-opted for a tier 1.5-2 team in Vitality rather than a tier 1 team in G2 who looked to go international
-Signs long term contracts at the home org
-develops his brand
-has 0 controversy

posted 9 months ago

crazy idea, what if the agency works towards tenz going back to CS? tenz is the face of sen, sen are eager to spread their brand, NA CS has shown to be capable of having tier 1.5-2 teams with 3 NA + 2 EU stacks (e.g. M80, Wildcard, Liquid, CoL). What if they want tenz+2na talents+2 eu players? :D

posted 9 months ago

Vita are around top 3-4 imo, there is a big chance they get Jimpphat (best site holder on the market) and then they have An S+ Tier awper in Zywoo, A tier Entry and Lurk in Flamez and Spinx and an S tier Anchor in Jimmphat with an A tier igl of Apex. That roster only has a bad coach and shitty mental, so they will be contenders for sure ( they still are, but that just raises their stocks). Meanwhile falcons is rumoured to get NiKo (who is quite egoistic) and s1mple (ego maniac number 2). The Falcons project is just a huge shithousery cuz they will just recycle players until they eventually hit

posted 9 months ago

Funnily enough Zywoo is on the same agency and yet he has made 0 retarded moves in his career so far. He could have easily got a way bigger bag from Falcons however he advocated against it and signed for vita until 2026. I really doubt it's just the agency's fault

posted 9 months ago

you will get better when you play against people who are just slightly better than you, but when the gap is too big that's not a learning experience, that's just being a punching bag

posted 9 months ago

I would say sentinels have done a great job in solving their issue of finding two people instead of two retired ones. Also jawgemo to g2 is a smart move for both

posted 9 months ago

least obvious fake flag lmao

tbf riot do so much to boost viewership (rewards, co-streams, less games) yet the peak viewership numbers on twitch are roughly the same

posted 9 months ago

but that's a slow death, I assume OP wants a faster move

posted 9 months ago

-Region based invites for champs and masters (the less teams you have in the playoffs of champs/masters, the less invites your region has at the next year's edition) -> higher level of competition
-cut off all the advertisment online -> no need to spend the money, everyone knows what valorant is
-Remove any struggling teams in franchising and hire new found clubs backed by huge sports owners like Kroenke or the Glazers
-remove viewership awards
CS 60 mil player base and Major Viewership of 10 mil, ez
