being a transgender in saudi is a big no no
''Sex-change surgery is illegal in Saudi Arabia except to intersex people, and it's against the law for men to wear women's clothing or to act feminine, and vice versa. Transgenderism and cross- dressing are associated with homosexuality and are penalized the same as homosexuality.''
that said penalty: ''Same-sex sexual activity is prohibited under Sharia law, under which all sex outside of marriage, include same-sex sexual activity, is criminalised. The maximum penalty under the law is the death penalty. Both men and women are criminalised under this law. In addition to potentially being captured by laws that criminalise same-sex activity, trans people may also face prosecution for failing to adhere to strict dress codes imposed by Sharia law.''

I mean we talk about Saudis killing lgbt, but I am pretty sure there have been far more drunk drivings or destroyed marriages via heineken

posted 4 months ago

well cuz cs ran thru the esl ranking, now it's VRS ranking, val is invite based

posted 4 months ago

likely 4 out of every region

posted 4 months ago

I wonder when will we attack Champions League for having heineken as a 27 year long partner 🤔

posted 4 months ago

they were ousted from the list. They were in at 2024, they were eliminated at 2025 :D

posted 4 months ago

Cuz being a ewc partner obliges you to advertize this event as much as you can? want to see if it's real? See how many esports world cup tweets pop up during the ewc season beginning, talking about how great riyadh is :)

posted 4 months ago

I would rather suggest the we have enough funds to buy 16 super teams we love all games equally! approach

posted 4 months ago

It's probably
8 opener bo3s and 4 winner bo3s on day 1
4 loser bo3s on day 2
4 decider bo3s on day 3

posted 4 months ago

true, but it's like 8 out of 40

posted 4 months ago

finished 50% off of falcons last year, not looking too good buddy

posted 4 months ago

I mean you might win some back, navi won like 600k back

posted 4 months ago

https://escharts.com/news/esports-world-cup-club-program how the fuck are you supposed to win the overall standings when falcons has almost 2x the number of games any other team has :DDDDDD

posted 4 months ago

no fucking way, a 16 team event in val which runs like a cs one?

posted 4 months ago

see the problem with this ''system''? pay 500k in order to pay even more for these new disciplines you get(debt from the loan) and see no massive win

posted 4 months ago

Football is owned by oligarchs, f1 is owned by oil companies and huge car brands, boxing is owned by scummy promotions, esports is owned by sheikhs. Simple as.

posted 4 months ago

exactly, but in order to get more points you need to have Title contending rosters in most games

posted 4 months ago

I am not critisizing it, just funny to see ''politically active'' orgs fold when money is given to them. Not blaming them obviously, finding a bag this big is something any org wants to achieve

posted 4 months ago

all the clubs participating in at least 1 game go towards the overall club standings. Each game has its own share of points which it gives for winning/placing top 2/top3-4/top8. It's kinda like F1 and their grand prix system, you can be the winner of 1 Grand Prix but then finish lower in the standings to someone who got 3 top 3s or 2 top 2s. The winner of the club standings is the one who gathered the most points across all the games.

posted 4 months ago

it is optional, cuz then you would need to pay like 30 million to own divisions in cs, dota, lol, tft, cod, ea fc, chess, and all the games. Basically only falcons can afford that (saudi run org), and guess who won the last club overall standings thru sheer number of their teams? Falcons.

posted 4 months ago

https://esportsworldcup.com/en scroll down and see all the games featured at ewc.

posted 4 months ago

I mean you open a division, then you have to pay salaries and likely maintain this division for coming years. Legit being given a loan to gamble but then if you lose what you are given you have to pay it with your own money. Sustainable my ass

posted 4 months ago

I mean they can still go for the 24 team event, but for example the CS event last year didn't feature fnatic, nip, c9, depends on the format they choose, it is more likely they choose to invite like 2 teams per region, like they did in lol last year

posted 4 months ago

ewc is still a very corrupt organization and fund which serves as a boost for falcons as an org

posted 4 months ago

they had 200 orgs applying, nrg is likely to have been one of them

posted 4 months ago

please note that being a partner doesn't mean you will be at the event

posted 4 months ago

eg is not in the programm, cheer for them lil bro

posted 4 months ago

Richard Lewis' report on how EWC is built has single handedly made me think that esports is cooked

posted 4 months ago

well it's not a million for every team, more like 500k for every single one, and it is a silent agreement that it goes towards expanding the org's disciplines, spoiler alert, the disciplines inside of ewc. do you think that you can buy a competent S-tier roster in a brand new game for 500k? I don't think so

posted 4 months ago

most money goes to opening new disciplines to get a better chance of winning the club standings at ewc, it's like being given a loan which you have to spend in a casino

posted 4 months ago

it's not valorant exclusive, ewc spans across like 15 games. It had pubg, pubg mobile, lol, tft, cs, dota, cod, ea fc, free fire, wild rift I think, basically almost all main stream games

posted 4 months ago

esports is just another victim of saudis, just like boxing, ufc, football, wwe, chess, you name them

posted 4 months ago

oh yeah, which is why I loled so hard. signing monesy is too political, attending fissure playgrouns is too political, but signing into a program funded by saudis, FUCK YEAH WE ARE IN

posted 4 months ago

I am pretty sure that this fund exists kinda as ''look, we give you money, but please spend it on divisions inside of the EWC circuit (e.g Fifa, cs, dota, lol, val, r6s, cod, tft, chess) so that we can try making ewc a bigger event''. So there is a chance navi buys a cod team, sen or loud buy a cs team, gentle mates open a cs division, c9 enter cod, etc. Why would they do that? cuz there is this thing called EWC club championship where the most successful org across all divisions wins like 7 million dollars. Last year it was falcons cuz they basically had the most divisions and secured like two top 1s, 3 top 2s, 4 top 3s
https://www.esportsworldcup.com/en/club-championship-standings and it wasn't even close, they simply won thru the sheer number of their teams

posted 4 months ago

me when I open a shit ton of divisions and spend 60% of my funds on streamers instead of ensuring I make profit: 😢😢😢

posted 4 months ago

https://www.esportsworldcup.com/en/clubprogram kinda funny to see vocally active and political orgs like liquid, navi, heroic and sentinels take free bag from totally not oil money

posted 4 months ago

link please :) I only know these teams were there before: https://www.esportsworldcup.com/en/clubprogram, and it was already in 2023, and I am sure it featured sentinels
oh nvm it's a full list, apparently they expanded from 30 to 40

posted 4 months ago

I mean most donation funds for orgs are just a reason for investors to come, no?

posted 4 months ago

I have thought their support programm has already been finalized a year ago?

posted 4 months ago

CS is probably one of the only main stream games where you have like 4 iterations spanning 26 years and all 4 have fanbases

posted 4 months ago

nah, for me it's better than cs go now, kinda miss GO cuz of the memories, but i have to accept that cs2 for me is better

posted 4 months ago

I dunno, the meaty sound when you land a nasty one tap clears any audio :)

posted 4 months ago

because it's still a part of history, and cs players want to cherish it?

posted 4 months ago

and you base this based on their major run with a team which was assembled thanks to kane (a.k.a 3rd best coach in eastern european history)

posted 4 months ago

can't have a coke sniffer in the team, sry

posted 4 months ago

passion ua is nowhere near as big as navi, just not even close. like Real Madrid Rayo Valecano in football

posted 4 months ago

I would rather die with honor than live with regret

posted 4 months ago

yeah and it just pisses off another viewer. Like I watched AoT after it has concluded (so I didn't see any spoiler hype) and it was cinema. It wasn't shoved down my throat, I consumed it myself

posted 4 months ago

worst type of fanbases, like I might have watched one piece and solo levelling, but just seeing these fucking ''ONE PIECE IS THE BEST FICTION'' and ''SOLO LEVELLING CLEARS AOT'' just makes me less likely to watch bruh
