If the tier 2 team has to beat G2 to ascend we might never get a new team. Also G2 is good this year but imagine they had to play relegation and their team wasn’t good, I can’t imagine them not spending whatever is necessary to retain that spot

If I understand this properly 8 teams now make playoffs in split 2. Which means the chances of an ascension team to fight for his spot instead of being directly relegated increase quite a lot

It’s probably still not enough, should probably play the full split against the 11 teams but Ig it’s better than nothing. I’m mostly glad because your season can’t be over after 1 split now which is a significant improvement and because they did add a ton of games to tier 2

1 I don't think it was necessarily things going bad with the team. Things were clearly not going bad with the team before split 2 and they already tried to bench kpzet for some reason, so I think we're just missing information there.

2 Jesse is not a rising talent more than Kpzet is a veteran. Jesse has been around longer than Kpzet and in better teams. Matter of fact Kpzet was scouted out of ranked by Lucas not that long ago. And I would argue Jesse is currently in better form and has carried his team a lot more than Kpzet. My initial thought on this is there must be something we don't know behind the scenes with Kpzet, not necessarily in a bad way but maybe comm issues or something, because he has performed great from the outside. This is also not that big of a surprise since they tried replacing him before the second split but ultimately decided no to because the new options weren't better.

Talking more about the change itself I think it's close to a 1 to 1 change individually, Jesse has been absolutely killing it lately. They have had the most time out of any team to prepare Ascension so I wanna believe everything will be figured out by the time it starts

From now on, if neither of the 2 ascended teams make playoffs they will both be relegated regardless of anything else. If they make playoffs they get to play in Ascension to fight for throat spot. And if you make champs, as long as the other ascension team doesn't do it too and place higher you get to keep your spot 1 more year. As far as I understand it at least
