i mean i definitely think the way they reward the upper bracket winner isn't really enough, but i think there's still ways to implement that advantage, like you can give them extra bans and side selection(my idea was that you give side selection AND take away loser's ability to ban).
but even without that, i still think double elim just creates a higher quality tourney
Why is it that double elim is the norm for all main circuit tournaments in VCT, including champs
while in the LoL community, when someone suggests that worlds, the biggest tournament of the year, should have double elim, most of the community is so adamantly against it?
If I gotta keep it to americas
s0m
zekken
valyn
n4rrate
leaf
shit mibr might place 4th as well
it's funny cause
last year, it was the teams who placed top 3 in stage 2(LEV, G2, KRU) and then one team who got in through points bc of their previous performances(SEN).
this year, its literally the same situation, with SEN/G2 in top 2, with C9/NRG fighting for a 3rd place minimum placement(and LEV letting another team pass through to champs lol)
It really isn't, you get more prep time and more film to analyze on the competition. For this tournament, the hate should be less towards the format and more towards the first seeds, minus Fnatic, that got here.
Like how did FNC have a closer game when they had:
To me, it looks like the lights were too bright for the other #1 seeds.
How did every team this weekend manage to make the first seed look like a punishment?
