I am actually sleeping a bit on Scream here. Just graphed Iceland ACS and K/D and he has been extremely consistent for both these events. But TenZ was actually a different beast last year at this event.

He was the reason SEN won Iceland last year with the top ACS, K/D, and FK/FD ratio.

Overall he still has the highest peak of any duelist at any international event so far. So I don't think you can justify not including him, but that is just my opinion.

Yeah there is some recency bias in this list. I think Aspas helped bring his team further than heat though so I would rank him higher.
Heat is insane though, almost as much as your boy mwzera on Raze back in the day (and hopefully soon once more?!)

Best Oper in NA, unproven internationally, and with the meta shift, you can consider him basically a chamber main.
I think Yay is the best Chamber in NA still but Wardell does give him a solid run. Wardell just needs a team on the same caliber and to make it to an international even before we can draw better comparisons

Yay played Chamber, and likely will continue moving forward. So I was removed him from consideration. But by impact in past events, I would put him number 2, because I feel Derke is a little more long-standing and well-rounded (can flex to other duelists like raze)

I will mention though that I think F0rsaken and Jing both have the potential to be on this list but there was a limited sample size with only the last Master's event. I think Aspas was more impactful for his team as he was the only duelist but they split the responsibilities.

I think they are the best duo, however.

From what we have seen across all the international stages:

  1. Derke
  2. TenZ
  3. cNed
  4. Aspas
  5. Leaf

in terms of impact, consistency, well-roundedness, and ability to take over the round/game.

edit: I think ScreaM could actually replace leaf here as well based off his performances at the last two Reykjavik events alone. Maybe even put him #3 and bump the rest down.

I think y'all are sleeping on the mad lad Leaf but maybe that's just me.

I would put him up there with cNed, Derke, TenZ, and Aspas

btw its "lose" not "loose"
like V1 did today :')

Yeah Since they made the main bracket in both open Quals for Challengers 2 they are Top 32 NA.

If they win a couple you could make the argument for 20-25th but we will have to wait and see. It's a double elimination so even if they win one game, it could just be a lucky match up against #32. and we would want to see a little more to be able to place them with more confidence on a power level

Wishing them all the success!

Wardell and Shaz don't get along unfortunately

@vlr you dropped V1 into the wrong match, they play the winner of this match

I think that she might do well on a trial with the Cloud9 Academy roster but jumping straight to Cloud9 Blue is a stretch. I would love to see her as a regular in the tier 2 scene because I do think she would be a great addition to any roster there.

Also, Mitch is massively underrated - don't sleep on him.

Interesting article, I agree with one of the comments which said that it seems super healthy for the Valorant scene that the last place regions recently made a grand finals and a top 3 finish.

Lots of competition to be had!

Their head coach hates Valorant lmao, they are so underprepared.

Put some respect on the opponents who sent you home last time LMAO

yeah that why it's hopium, hoping George is wrong both for 100T and Wardell's sake.

Wishing the best for Wardell, hope things work out for him at 100T

It wasn't ego on Wardell's part. Pretty sure he can't move because he needs to stay in Canada to support his mom and brother. 100T might not want to sign him because of the location thing as well though

Yeah, it looks like changes might need to be made, or Sentinels are going to continue to be left behind.

No roster changes, no coach, no practice, and seemingly no team synergy or greater tactics have caused this Sentinels squad to be washed out of recent tournaments.

Hope they figure things out and can turn things around. Wishing them all the best <3

Wardell and Steel hate each other, I'm pretty sure.

Leaf has been playing controllers like viper on certain maps recently and Yay has been playing a lot of Chamber. They are also very adaptable and both put up great stats at Champions. I don't think you have any basis to stand on saying any other these players are "miles" ahead of each other beyond your own bias. At least wait until they go head to head at an international LAN or watch all the matches from each reason before making such reaching statements.

https://www.vlr.gg/event/stats/449/valorant-champions-2021
Derke had the best performance at champions last year.
It is hard to say who will be best in 2022 until masters but if you are talking last year, it is stupid to not include other regions such as NA, Brazil, Korea, etc...
Sacy, Leaf, and Heat all had standout performances albeit with lower rounds played. Keznit however had similar rounds played, but with better acs and similar other statistics to Cned, Chronicle, nAts...

Ignoring players just because they are from other regions shows your bias and puts you in an echo chamber.

  1. C9
  2. Guard
  3. V1
  4. Optic
  5. SEN
  6. XSET
  7. Knights
  8. Rise/Luminosity

NRG and 100T eliminated was surprising, but I don't think anyone expected much from EG

posted about 2 years ago

Well thought out, I believe we may see something like this in the future. It all depends on how comfortable Shaz is on Chamber

It's going to be interesting to see how the meta changes with the new patch but as of right now we are already in a double controller and double initiator meta.

Here are the top team composition picks from each map (>50% pick rate) from the NA group stage week 1-3, in descending order.
Bind: Astra Sova Viper Raze (Jett, Chamber, Sky) = team preference
Fracture: Chamber Breach Viper Astra Raze = double controller
Haven: Astra Jett Sova Sky KJ = double initiator
Breeze: Sova Viper Jett KayO Chamber = double initiator
Ascent: Astra Sova Jett Killjoy KayO = double initiator
Icebox: Sova Viper Jett Chamber Sage = double sentinel
Split: Astra Raze Sky Viper (Chamber/Cypher) = double controller

It is interesting to see how the meta will have evolved from week 1 to week 5. When the new patch gets implemented for pro play, things may change even more.
As of right now Raze and Jett are the only Viable Duelists (4 out of the bottom 5 agent picks are the other duelists), but soon Yoru may be viable and Astra certainly will be affected.

What are yall's thoughts?

Yeah apparently he is moving to IGL too, like Roza did with TSM. Will be interesting too see the results these next couple of weekends

Check out the Tracker pages for the NA ranked leaderboards.

I kind of expected the agent pool, win rates, and K/D out of Xeppa and Cryo from the top 4, but Ethan kind of blew my mind.

they won 2-0. that is all that matters in pro matches. all 5 of them could have gone negative and no pros would care if they still won the series

Honestly the worst call I've seen in recent history. It's one thing to miss a call, but another entirely to make one up out of nowhere in the most critical moment of the game. Actually rigged

posted about 2 years ago

because he has a big stream following and 100T is a content org first and foremost is my guess. They might make changes if Stage 1 doesn't pan out with good results but it is unlikely (as it may just be the new squad synergy troubles as well)
