Franchising is not based on region but rather on orgs. So hypothetically RIOT can choose 3 orgs from Indonesia if they fit the criteria. Thats how franchising works in EU as well. It doesn't matter if the org is from Denmark or Poland as long its profitable orgs which brings good money to RIOT. Since APAC teams are so nationalistic RIOT can do something like 3 players per sub-region in 1 team.
SG best place. Visa easy to get as well.
Since next year will be with franchising/franchised teams i think it will be in regions where it is already properly established and has a good fanbase.

Yes i agree with jimjam789 on this. DK is a huge org and by far. Mobile games are popular but they are not close to LoL viewership. Also DK is famous internationally unlike many orgs which are famous within their own countries. DK is popular in China as well. Its one of the reasons G2 is very popular because they have a large global following.
Not to mention DK sponsors. So far Mobile game orgs have failed to attract the top dog sponsors.
Region strength also considers how competitive the region is and that includes metrics like the number of players there are . More viewership brings in more players hence increasing competitiveness and overall region strength.
DK , ONS , Maru , and thats 15-25 active players . SG which is by far the region with lowest number of players excluding OCE has similar/more players than that. And thats only SG btw where RIOT has done nowhere near what they have for Korea in promoting the game over 2 years.
Yes they are and DRX is a big org as well everyone knows that. But theres a lack of talent there and most of the good players there including GC always try to get a JP org because better ecosystem. Also the reason T1 isnt at KR yet because they cant with 4K live viewers in finals. The views too low and no sponsors on new teams.

No one. Their region is at a breaking point. RIOT had to scrap Korean GC because of lack of talent/orgs . All of the good players went to JP. Their top 4 teams in Korean VCT had to disband because the situation is that bad there. Its funny because Indian teams have more stability even tho they so bad.
Every region has 1 strong team but your region only has 1 good team . Thats the reality of it. No point talking about KR when JP wins. They both are far from same.

Nah that was not a fluke. It would've been if ZETA played only played 2-3 games and made it to semis but they really pulled thro in LB. ZETA is the better team its just that Nth was the better team on JP finals.
