Then you are going to face charges for slander because she wasn't "completely" lying. Maybe she didn't get SA'ed, but she did took the uber home that day? Sounds ridiculous but a good prosecutor can use your initial response to muddy the details and take the case absolutely nowhere. "Your honor, my client might have been lying, but the offender's response hurt her feelings and led to trauma!". I've seen this happen in court so many times. Its a little gross but it can happen, so its better to play safe and issue out the "legally correct" response. Hope this helps
