1. The long off season is accounting for the fact of worlds + GC + time for roster moves (visas, contract times, ascension), so no you cant slide in more

2. and again, those games are not playing more vct games. they are not apart of the vct circuit. they do not matter at all in any shape or form, you can legit play an off season tournament and it would be the exact same thing.

3. you cannot be sacrificing top teams so that bottom teams can slightly improve prac

1. it wouldn't be a minority, the casual watcher is not watching a game day with 0 stakes between two bad teams where it would not be interesting. only fans of said team would watch that. and if you do add proper stakes including better teams you would be playing too many matches. you say they have 1 month break but look at their schedule during and after toronto its heavily packed: toronto -> ewc -> regular season with a little break (reminder I do not disagree that spacing could be better, I disagree about more matches)

2. That CN tournament was not apart of VCT, its the same thing as off season, that no team really cares about, winning it means literally nothing.

3. You dont only have practice during officials, 90% of a teams improvement will be during scrims, officials can help with this but again you prio the better teams, not the worse ones.

4. Thats great, but theres also pros complaining that theres too many games being played before. there is no perfect balance of games. The only thing you can reasonably argue for is LCQ to satisfy all, but riot removed that so XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I get all of that, but I think the premise is already wrong
its not like we have too many games on val to have concerns about stressing the top teams, its the opposite

there was many many many complaints about this in 2023 and how motivation and quality of play went down because its stressful asf to keep putting up your best. FNS, Boaster, and kangkang all said its impossible

compare to football, they play 1 to 2 times a week FOR THE WHOLE YEAR, there is like a 2 week break in june or july and a 1 month break at the end of the year, and its a physical sport too where being well rested is important (there is too many games on football but thats another discussion entirely)

All the the sports you mentioned have huge amount of burnout and its been complained about A LOT, and these athletes are also being payed way more than your average valorant andy, which means they dont have to continue studying for education or work a second job to keep afloat.

I cant speak for everyone of course but I watched the whole of 2024 even that being a year where all brazilian teams were TERRIBLE, like trash of the trash

I get it, ive watched years where my team was trash too, years where my team played no extra games and yeah its sad but thats just how it is sometimes. you have to prio someone, and for riot where internationals matter the most, of course they care about the top teams more

1. A minority of viewers will actually go watch those extra games. what stakes are you even adding? if you want another round robin like thing you are adding too many games for top teams to play, sure some people out there might like GX but its not enough to justify more matches played.

2. Refer back to point 1 about the more matches, and how its just not advantageous to Riot

again, you should use that extra time to improve, you should not pad out the game with more matches that are either meaningless or cause too much stress to the top teams. I get that there must be a last place, but if an org is getting a last place, they shouldnt be complaining about less matches.

Its much better for riot to get the top teams in top form for the international event because thats where the money is at, as they confirmed themselves its where a large majority of fan interest and money is being generated. you are catering for a very minority, casual fans dont care about bad teams, only fans of a team care about bad teams.

why should there be more regional games, I can agree for better spacing but not more games

then dont get eliminated early, and use this extra time to prep and become better to ensure it.
