Currently the Southeast Asia Challengers has too few teams for its scale. If the promoted team does not qualify for Ascension, six out of the nine teams, excluding academy teams, end up competing in Ascension. So it would be better to split the league into an Indochina League (Thailand and Vietnam) and a Nusantara League (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines).
