I'm not super qualified to talk about this but, I've watched the last few Liquid games a trend of issues has shown itself.
To me they are trying to hard to create something new, do a unique strategy to shock the opponent, the strange bit is that the aim of the players is undeniably great l1nk, soulcas, scream are all extraordinary but they put themselves in situations where that aim rarely shines. For example in that last round, after they beat G2 in their buy-up. G2 were on weaker weapons, it was very obviously a prime example for TL to get back into the game. The plan is straightforward for these rounds, hit a site together, plant, and don't give upgraded pistols and marshals a chance for picks. That doesn't work when scream jumps onto the boxes in range of three different angles and jammpi just solo pushes mid with the strongest gun in the round. In a different situation, its also odd when you give an Omen an operator when it honestly has nothing to really enable it. A series of strange decisions and agent picks.
TLDR: They try to hard to be create new strategies and overthink rounds, thus put players in bad situations where their fantastic raw aim, does not matter.
I'm no coach but I think playing standard, but I think playing default valorant could let the aim of the players shine and just be better for them.
Despite this, I still think and hope Liquid can beat G2
I really really like these players and TL in general, I wanna see them succeed but I think its undeniable that they have to change something in order to beat top tier teams
